Apex'i PFC Boost Controller, Worth??

Is it worth to get the Apex'i PFC Boost Controller? How good does it work to control boost level. Anyone using it?

I am talking to XS Engineering about this very subject tomorrow. I'm unclear if this product controls only the wastegate or if it also controls transition. My guess is that it controls WG only and is probably designed more for single-turbo applications where you can't use the factory boost control system and don't want to install a standalone boost controller.

But I could be wrong! Anyone who actually has one of these babies should chime in.

If it does control the transition that will be nice because I do want to keep the Twin Turbo Setup. Since it is a add on to the PFC, I will assume it will works better with the PFC compare to other boost controller.

The PFC already controls boost using the stock solenoids without the "boost controller add-on". An aftermarket boost controller works just fine with the PFC, all you do is set the boost on the PFC higher than what you are running with the boost controller.

BTW, I was under the impression that Apexi didn't sell the boost controller add-on anymore.

I should have del. of my PFC with Apexi controller kit very soon. I will ask the guy supplying it what the difference is.

Dont forget that with the Apexi unit, you also get the map sensor. I dont think you get this with other controllers.

The boost control kit comes with the same solenoid as the AVC-R for boost control and a new higher-resolution MAP sensor that reads more boost.

Alright, I'm bumping yet ANOTHER thread in hopes to get an accurate response. While I've searched through a TON of posts, I'm not really sure if my understanding of the value of this unit is clear.

As mentioned in a previous thread I started some time back, my boost is nearly uncontrollable. Even with the stock actuator capped and a ported wastegate, I was still seeing boost surpassing 1BAR. I decided that I'm going to invest my money into a Profec-B Type-S to hopefully alleviate this situation. However, I just noticed an Apexi solenoid for sale, and I am now considering using this rather than the Profec. Am I wasting my money?

i heard people from the yahoo groups mentioned that it feels like it's install there blindly... blindly controls the boost....

while the other brands give extra feature like boost scramble, multiple settings based on need, RPM / gear dependant boost pressure etc etc etc....
plus most of the other brand has a controller itself that displays the boost pressure digitally....

so.... it's SIMPLE vs FEATURE..

I asked a well know tuner in the area and he says avoid it. It never seems to work correctly.
