Is Apexi Exu Faulty?
Hi Guys!
I bought an apexi ecu (serial number FD3S4 020-1507) for my almost stock 1993 JDM FD3S. This ecu was on an FD with a single turbo and other modifications. When i installed the ecu i cancelled the present map and kept the base map. The car started first time. However, i noticed that there was a bit of hesitation every time that i floored the accelerator. The idle was stable but a bit too low.
Last Saturday, i started the car and went for a ride but soon after the car stalled and would not start. I only managed to start the car twice but i had to floor the accelarator all the way down whilst cranking and i still didn't manage to keep the car running (it kept stalling and back firing). I installed back again my stock ecu and all worked fine again.
P.s I also noticed that with the Apexi ECU, when the ignition was on, some of the solenoids which are attached under the intake manifold were doing some noises (closing and opening?).
What could the reason be? Is the Apexi Ecu faulty? Or i just need a good tune up?
My mods are:
Re-amemiya air filter
90mm Mid-pipe
ApexiN1 Cat-Back Exhuast.
Fluidyne Racing Radiator
Otherwise all is stock
Thanks in advance,

^^ Thanks Henri!! I'm really happy that you offered your help. At the moment i'm waiting for an Apexi commander. I see what i can do with it as soon as it arrives. I'll keep you posted with any news if you dont mind. Cheers, ken

Hi Philiwily!
I reseted the ecu with a friends pfc commander. As i had to erase the present map to get the default base again. I now order a commander so that i can re-connect the ecu back again. I just hope that the ecu is good.
