Nitrous is cold and may reduce intake temps. But, it is also adding oxygen to the air/fuel mixture. If the air/fuel mixture bcomes too lean, you will detonate. You must make sure you have enough fuel to compensate for the additional oxygen that a NOS shot will give.

Think about it...If the only thing to consider is how cold a NOS shot will affect the intake charge, everyone would run a 150 shot. It's the oxygen that the shot is adding to the current air/fuel mixture (ratio) that one has to be concerned with. Since our cars don't work off a mass air sensor, but rather manifold abslute pressure, running too much NOS (or running a shot without consideration of the current air/fuel ratio), can result in disaster.
