Another idle problem. . . has to "re-learn" all the time

Here are the good things: I clipped the wires, I do have the commander, and both the commander and the boost gauge I have seem to report the vacuum level is OK.

Bad things: every time I let the clutch out, thus going to idle, the engine bounces from about 900rpm to 14 or 1500 for about a minute, gradually getting closer and closer to a flat idle. Even so, it idles a bit high when it gets flat after a minute.

I think the problem is due to the fact that I needed a jump right when I got my PFC installed (battery had been out for too long I guess) and the guy from AAA fiddled with the accelerator line. I let the car idle for 30 minutes, but when I got in I realized the ****** had slipped the wire off the spring.

So the PFC must have learned everything wrong. I think that's why I idle a bit high, and why I have this bouncy problem.

First off, is there anyway I can reset the PFC? Second off, is there some other way to solve this problem? I let the car idle for about 10 minutes the other day, but it didn't solve the problem.

Thanks.

Pull your ground off your battery. Then reattach. If you don't lose your trip miles and radio station settings then you need to pull your ground again. I know my car holds a residual charge and sometimes I have to hold the brake pedal down while the ground calbe is removed from the battery. This will send the PFC through the relearn. Just make sure it idles at no load for 10min and then with load for 10min.
