Yes, if you are sure that -10C is an impossible reading and/or the reading never changes and you are sure there is no wiring problem (short circuit etc), by all means replace it. The air temp sensor sends info to the ecu which adjusts fuel input based on AIT. Inaccurate readings can cause rich conditions (wasteful and poor performance) OR lean conditions (DANGEROUS as welding a half full propone storage tank).

If you do a search of this forum about it, you would also lean about what else to do at the same time
that would make your engine even safer.

It was discussed within the last month.

Hello guys...
I have the same problem on my fc
Yesterday I installed the Power Fc in my 89 TII and the air temp in the commander was between -40 and -20 celcius. I replaced the air temp sensor today but the reading is still the same...(((
What should I do?? Please tell me what to do ???
The car runs very rich (i hope that's not a problem) and the idle rpm is between 500 and 750.
When I have the acceleration pedal stable (ie at 3000 rpm), the engine revs from 1500 to 3000 rpm.
I hope you know what I mean...

pull the sensor and test the resistence to make sure it is working a la shop manual. I had a water temp sensor go bad on me, ti was complety shot but still agev readings just off 5 degress C. Point is, maybe your wiring is freind, just ebcasue it gives you a reading doesn;t meean it is connected properly or not shorted out.
