1300cc RC injector questions

All,

I just had a conversation with the guys over at rx7.com. I was asking about the RC 1300cc injectors and I received some negative comments on them. I want to determine if this is just FUD (rx7.com doesn't carry the 1300cc injectors) or not.

Here were the comments:

1) The injectors are "inconsistent"
2) They wear out much faster then Bosch 1600 top-feeds
3) They do not provide repeatable results, and thus tuning is difficult or impossible
4) They "leak", leading to poor performance and possible engine fires

I don't have any experience with this kind of stuff. I am going to call RC today to discuss, but I'd love to hear from list members who have the 1300cc's in their cars and have tuned them on a dyno. I've noticed that this is a very popular mod, and one that I had planned to do myself. I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision. The Bosch 1600cc kit from rx7.com is over $700 (with rail and FPR).

Thanks,

-ch

1300cc RC injectors are by far the best way to go, well I suppose with RC you could go with 1200 or 1250 or 1275 or 1225cc, what ever, personally I feel the 1600's are just unrealistic, virtually no one driving an rx7 on a rural street will need 1600cc inj., furthermore I love my 1300's, had no problems tuning with them & even pulling to redline with 14psi I have not seen my inj. duty above 49% ever...They dont leak, they are slightly inconsistent but RC will send you flow charts for each inj & they are off by like 1/50 of a cc...

I've got a set of 1300's and they work fine. never had a problem with them. why does rx7.com not like them? maybe it because they are competitors?

http://www.3rdgenrx7.com/keithsrails.htm its a *bit* cheaper if you dont use RP.... around $300 cheaper than their $598 and $748 kits.

wonder1and on the forum had 2 motors blow because of RC 1300cc injectors.

His PFC was showing a high duty cycle, but the fuel just wasn't actually getting to his engine.

If 850's all around isn't enough for me, I plan on going the 1600cc route, after my warranty expires.
