1000cc primaries/1600cc secondaries

Does anybody have problems running these injectors? I have them on my car and it is not running properly with the settings I was given. It seems to be too rich. Any help would be appreciated.

Dee,
Trying to get a decent idle with 1000cc primaries will be tough. What computer are you using? I have 720cc primaries and thats pushing it..I get a smooth idle at 1,100 RPM any lower and it gets lumpy. Best bet would be to get smaller primaries. Then add additiional injectors if needed. If you have a stand alone youll be able to achieve idle by adjusting pulse widths. If not your asking too much of a stock/piggyback configuration. Depends on your system but 1000cc primaries will be difficult to get a low smooth idle. Youll foul plugs daily and idle at like 9:1 AF ratio. With 720's I have to be careful to not foul the plugs. Maybe Im missing something but I really think you need smaller primaries,Shawn

I have a Power FC and datalogger. Jason at RX7Store says that they all run 1000cc primaries and they run fine. I bought my whole fuel kit from them. All new.

Make sure that the 1000's are sealing correctly or you will get a vacuum leak and the car will run like crap. Set your idle to around 1000rpm. You can also pull fuel out at idle.

Stupid question, but these 1000cc are topfeed low impediance, right? Did you wire a resistor pack?

I would call Jason at the RX7store and ask him his settings. He sold you the gear he shouldnt mind helping. With 1000cc primaries your idle pulse width will be 1ms or as low as possible. Im into other stand alone systems and originally replied to your post by mistake. With 720cc primaries my idle pulse width is 2.4 ms. Thats the amount of time the incector actually opens. Your power FC may not give you that info,Im not familliar with it. Good luck..sorry I can't be more help,Shawn

With a .08 lag time those 1000cc injectors must get moving really S ... L ... O ... W or it would be rich as hell to at idle.

Sounds like an inherently good choice for a primary injector Jason.

The car seems to be idleing ok now, but if I blip the throttle, it breaks up. I can't seem to get it right. I need help.

That is what my car used to do. I have the rx7store ultimate kit too. Someone put a shitty map in my PFC which caused it to do this. I constantly fouled out plugs too.

Adjust the idle area as lean as possible with the fuel correction map which will still be too rich and the PFC will prevent you going as lean as you want.

Then lean out the idle with much negative lag untill it is lean as posible but with best idle.

You will have to reduce Pri/Sec transistion % to about 30% and Sec transistion ms to .1ms. Change Injector Overlap to 7-7-4.

When you idle is fine, start tuning cruise areas and tranistion from vacuum to boost areas. You have to log Advance Inj Fr/Pr and Advance Inj Fr/Sec to see transition for when the secondaries come on and how smooth it is. Look at these in chart format otherwise it will not make any sence with map reference format numbers.

I had posted soemthing about this during the summer time when I went to 1600 secondaries.

wats the point in 1000cc primaries? ur never gunna pass smog. ur never gunna have a good idle and be able to drive it in low rpms without it being really shitty. i have 850cc and goddamn they are a bitch. but now that i got all the tuning down Im chill with them just no way i'd go bigger. with 850 prim and 1600 sec. u can make all the horsepower u want. well.... at least I'll make all the horsepower i want.

I ran 1000's in my car for 2 years and the idle was perfect. We have also installed them many times with no problems.

1000 cc should be 55% lag 0.08, try taking fuel out in the PIM volts at 1000. Try going between 78 and 84%
