The New FC & FD Aluminum Oil Pan Thread
I just closed the other thread and started this one to get us all on the same page without having to assimilate 8 pages of info to know what is going on. The old thread still exists, so you can still refer to it as needed.
The current status of the oil pans is this:
FD Pans: Xcessive Motorsports owns the FD aluminum oil pans. We helped design it, but it is their baby; not ours. I say this because we are unable to get any pans from them currently and the excuses are getting old. Hopefully, Rich will get back from vacation, fix his mold and get a new batch in production, but I am making no promises. They will get here when they get here, but I will not be predicting when that may be.
Retail price on the FD pans is $425. The Group Buy price was $399. Shipping is $20 anywhere in the USA via FedEx Ground. If we ever get them back in stock, I may just sell them at the GB price because my waitlist is so long already. If you want to be on the list and are not in too great a hurry, contact me with your real name and either a phone number or email at which I can give you the good news in the -- hopefully -- not too distant future.
FC Pans: We exclusively manufacture the FC aluminum oil pans, so production is under our control. We can't help it if the foundry or machinist or powdercoaters cause a delay, but at least we can go out and find new shops to do the work if necessary.
A new batch of FC Aluminum Oil Pans is just about ready for sale. They have been cast, machined, baffles installed and are currently at powdercoating. We are literally looking at days, not weeks. That said, I am prepared to discuss opening the group buy on them again.
Retail price on the FC pans is $349. The Group Buy price is only $299. Shipping is $20 via FedEx Ground, anywhere in the USA. Overseas shipping at cost.
Here are a couple pictures of the FC Aluminum Oil Pan, in case you haven't seen it. We made some minor changes to the internal baffling and the powdercoat will be more of a "wrinkle" finish. The windage tray (horizontal baffle on top) will remain the same.

The FC pan is one seriously sick piece. Pineapple built me a motor last month and put one of thier pans on it at the same time. It looks and works like a 1000$ pan.
Im really happy with mine. WELL worth the money. Plus it looks like it is going to basically makes my oil changes 6 quarts even which is nice.

I couldn't agree with you more! Too bad it's completely out of our hands. However, I did talk to Rich at Xcessive Manufacturing (what he is calling his new business since splitting off from Xcessive Motorsports) and he did say he was waiting for the foundary to start casing the FD pans any day now. It's still a long row to hoe because there is still machining and powdercoating after that, and it presumes the casting went well this time. All we can do is cross our fingers and wait.
Just to reitterate: the FD pans are manufactured by a different company and we just retail them. The FC pans, however, are made entirely by us (with the help of a few vendors), so we actually have some control there...if we don't like a vendor, we just find a new one. We can't do that with the FD pans because it's not our product.

How come you guys can't step up and make an FD pan as well? But anyway, I'm still interested in one, so keep us updated.

If it were as simple as that, we would. However, not only would it require a significant capital investment but also many months of preparation and execution. Had we known how long it would really be at the beginning, we certainly would have gotten the ball rolling and perhaps had something ready by now, but that is 20/20 hindsight. Looking to the future, the new pans are in the works and starting a competing project now would be hard to justify. I was told by Rich that he will have 3 pans for me on Monday and another, larger batch in the coming weeks. It's not something I can vouch for, but I also have no specific reason to disbelive him. Those three pans are spoken for, of course, as are the next dozen after that, but eventually we expect to have enough to satisfy immediate demand. If you want a place in line, order a pan now and you will be served in the order received.

There are no current group buys going on for the FC oil pans, but you are free to start one. We need five firm orders to get it going. They are in-stock and ready to ship.
FD Pans are still backordered but I was told I may start seeing them next week. Cross your fingers. Until the backorders and waitlisters are taken care of, there will be no group buy on the FD Pans.
