T11 engine or 13b-re

i have an 84 SE and am ready to upgrade. i was going to go all the way with a single turbo 3rotor but am kinda trying to face reality. i been looking around at some peoples car and see that the turbo 2 engine seems to be real popular and the 13b-re pops up every now and again ....i live i japan and have easy access to both but not sure which to go with according to install difficulty and overall price. i heard that the turbo 2 engines are only good up to about 400hp because of the housings being weaker than the RE....IS THIS TRUE....i was thinking of just buying a complete FC that has already been modded and stripping it of all parts needed for my swap. i know that it would be tons cheaper and convenient. but honestly, i hate the way the intake manifold looks compared to any other..anyway, if i buy a parts car i would have everything i could possibly want(i think)......any suggestions

Funny your in the heartland where Mazda's are made and a American is answering your questions. Both the T2 and RE engines can put a smile on your face,it comes down to budget really. I assume in Japan both are much cheaper than here. Either engine is F.I. so I would go with the most powerful if it were me. I prefer my V8 FB but thats me. its probally cheaper for you to stick with a rotary.

TII's are not limited to 400hp, that rumor has risen from bad tuning! anyways, go with the parts TII idea as that will be your overall best deal, have all the parst you need (minus conversion bs), and will get your project done the quickest. in a 1st gen you won't even need 400hp... trust me!!!!

yeah it is funny that im in the land of where these engines where made, but they seem to be a forgotten art over here . only a few mess with them and most of the people i know that have them are american lol...not only that but most americans over here only bolt **** on( big freakin no-no when it comes to rotarys) anyway thansk for your guys reply. even though that 13b-re intake manifold looks sooooo damn bad *** i think ima stick to the tII cause i can just buy the entire FC for less than what any noraml conversion would cost....even cheaper if its not running, especially since i plan on rebuilding the block with some port job and apex seals.
