Sub Forum Deletion

I am in favor of delting this forum. It does draw a bunch of rotary bashers. If they like there V8s let them go to Mustang or Camaro clubs. This should be for RXs no one should not have to come to a club that is suppose to be about RXs and rotarys and listen to people talk about which rods they should use when rebuilding there Chevy. It would be one thing if they just kept there piston talk and rotary hate in here but they dont. They leak all their hate into the other forums and flame everything up. Maybe the rotary is over their head so they decide to hate on it. I dont know but it gets old having to tell some of these people what the actual displacment is and so on. They think because the rotary makes full use of its displacment that the displacment should be doubled. They compalin and whine about all sorts of stuff. I remember a while back I asked if the fastest V8 RX7 was faster than the fastest rotary RX7 and they totally tried to change the subject to Top Fuel drag cars and stuff. I mean come on. I know the fastest car is piston powered as of right now. However is the fastest RX7 piston powered? They can butcher there cars all they want and make some redneck special but I like my rotary and will defend it. So ya any sign of weeding these people out I am for it.

What? The people who frequent this section of the forum are some of the most knowledgeable people on the forum regarding cars including rotaries and pistons. The hate comes from people bashing on putting a V8 in an RX-7 without any knowledge about the swap whatsoever. This forum has had many very valuable threads regarding not just V8 swaps but also transmission and differential issues, etc.

A V8 RX-7 will not be put in an outlaw class, and when you are talking about the fastest rotary car you are talking about a team that builds it and races pretty much as their jobs. You will not find that type of time and effort being put into a car that can only compete in an outlaw class where anything goes and they will not be able to attract sponsors so your arguement is greatly flawed.

Stretch over at torquecentral is well into the 8's with a ford smallblock on the bottle, in his 1st gen. Hinson has gone mid 9's with his ls1/fd. As for me, 12.20 @119 last year with a small cam and some boltons.

Its funny that you call american stuff redneck, when MOST your beloved rotary drag cars are running AMERICAN made transmissions and rearends(powerglide, ford 9" rears etc)

Come out to the midwest rotary rally at the road america 500 in august, I would be happy to give you a ride in my car.

I thought the whole point of the other engine conversion forum was so rotary guys didnt have to read about us ripping the "soul" out of our cars. It seems to me that the rotary guys are the one who come in here and post all the immature comments. I for one love my rx7 and everything about it, but the engine it came with. And when the engine in it died it was simply cheaper to convert it to 5.0 power than buy a new rotary for it. I think that anyone who comes in here and bashes us for converting our cars should be banned, if you dislike it that much dont come in here. Or you could post a topic about it on the difference of opinion forum, since that would be the more logical place to put it. In the long run we are actually helping to preserve these cars since the average person would part them out or sell them for scrap once the engine dies. Think about it, how many 2nd gen cars do you see for sale for a couple hundred dollars with blown motors? And I am talking about the average person, not the people you would find on this forum. I dont believe that an entire forum should be shut down because of rotary fans coming in here and bashing us.

LOL ya pretty good times for a small block ford. What about those N/A 1st gens running 9s? Jesus padllia? Ken Sheepers? The point being the rotary is just as capable as the V8 in running good times. So I see no reason for me to do a V8 swap. If I did wanna run a V8 it would be in that new Mustang. The V8 swap has been done with pretty much every car. It really not a big deal anymore. However running against V8 cars with a rotary which is by far smaller in size thats fun. To each his own but you will never find a pisiton engine of any sort in my RX.

By the way I am just agreeing with Evil Aviator but that thread is now locked so I could not comment there This is RX7 forum you can say what you want but the rotary truly puts the R in RX7

My only question is... why do you even bother reading this subforum if it offends you so much? Just stop coming here and everyone will be happy.

The thread in the Suggestions forum is still open.

This may shock some people, but I did not to through all the trouble of creating that thread and posting a sticky in this forum just for my own amusement.
