It is a 93 base with a red top Sr20det in it, motor is basically stock all it has is a Greddy head gasket, ARP head studs, and HKS cams... It makes 501.3 hp at 26 psi....And i run a 62-1 turbo.....

You installed a Nissan engine in your FD? TRADER!! Just Kidding, much stranger things than that have been done to these cars. Is it an auto or manual (I ask because the run looked awfully smooth for a stick). Can you post the timeslip?

Nice run, and good MPH. Usually you see low 10s with that speed - 1 more mph and it is license time!

It is a stock s13 5 speed.... and i do not have my camera here for the time slip but....

60 ft 1.663
330ft 4.627
1/8 6.967
mph 107.8
1/4 10.67

That is from memory because i am not looking at it so i can not remember my 1000 ft time

Nice! Do you think it has any more in it? Is the car set up for certification? My track is really strict about NHRA rules - and I agree, safety is very important. It would be nice to see you break the 135 mark, but then the officials will be all over you. Have fun!

Have you weighted your car? I'm interested to know how the SR20DETT compares to the LS1 conversion so many others are doing.

I'm guessing about 2700lbs with the driver at 500rwhp.

My friend you have done a great job creating a fast package...
But when you decided the wankel engine was not suitable for your needs, why didn't you choose another platform (car). I am sorry but an RX without a rotary engine is not good for me.
I have also seen your car being featured in Modified magazine.

im backing up FxF on this... pulling the rotary out of the rx-7 i kinda wrong.

***imma hop over to the other side of the fence now...***

Freak'n awesome run and you created 500hp in a far more cost effective way!!! Always love the sr20det and i was going to use that in my project but .... Always wanted to do an sr20det in a BMW 318ti (the coupe Beame-rado...looks like the VWcorrado)

great job.... pics or post the issue you were in (date).

And there, my friend, is the point. It's not good for YOU. Seems to be great for him though, and myself, and a hundred other people.

Yes, my friend. I was expressing MY opinion that happens to seem great for many people in this forum too...
I admire the work TNT has done and I don't want to flame anyone, but I feel that he could make it work with a wankel engine too.
There are many platforms out there that can do the job and are not RX-7s.
Putting an S2000, any V8, a Supra, a Silvia or any other non-wankel engine, is avoiding the problem. By owning an RX-7 you get the whole package. The problems, the weaknesses, the linear rotary feel, the great cornering and everything else…

Why do people come in the "other engine conversion" section and bash people putting "other" engines in their RX7's... If its not for you the don't come in.

I didn't bash anyone.
I just wanted an answer on the subject from a person that has a well built car.
If you cannot understand that, i am not going to explain it to you...
