SR20DET, not 2JZ...

The SR20DET is the engine that came on the '88 + 180sx/Silvia. 4 cylinder 2.0 T-25 turbine up until the '94 silvia(not sure of the year), then went to the T-28 and finally a BB turbine on the S15.

I don't now why the SR20 though...

I went with the sr20 becuase 1) it is inexpensive, 2) the weight is close to the 13brew(50/50 weight), 3) with a good size T4 which is what i am putting on it, it will make just as much power as the 13brew around 450 rear wheel is my goal....

Do yourself a HUGE favor. Go down to the local Harbor Freight or Wal-Mart, etc and buy some jack stands!

I see the car supported by one jack stand and a jack, only in the front. Lift it up so that it is level and supported by 4 real life jack stands. You should be able to pick them up for about $50.

I have seen some bad *** SR20s, throwing numbers in the 700s (Fully built JUN). Good idea with them being similar in size and weight, and also you get the bad *** s15 tranny. Good call.

450rwhp? you won't even come close to that on a stock internal sr20.

Why did you decide to go with a red top motor instead of a black top motor? If you want a black top, I have one sitting in my living room.

Turbo Jeff I am doing most of the work on a lift it is just that i have to work on customers cars during the week so that i can afford this little experiment, it is crazy to me what people choose to pick out of picturesanyway, it is not a stock internal sr20, pistons, rods, stainless valves, and upgraded springs and retainers.....but we have made 390 on stock internal sr20 with no major explosions....

I'm thinking because the red tops are a hell of a lot cheaper, and the only advantage the black tops have over them are a bigger turbo; which, he was going to upgrade to a T4 anyway.

Well your going to constantly receive flak about this swap, but good luck with it. It's interesting to see someone get out of the mold and do their own thing.

Kool.
Just like building computers. Not everyone buys Dell, Compaq, HP or Sony machine.
Some people built...this motherboard, that ECU with different HP, some overclock, some radiator, and some cool video...
