Previously you had mentioned the possibility of making more of these subframes. How hard would it be to build one that keeps the stock rack location? I've got a T2 subframe and it sucks, but the rest of my setup is designed around this engine location.

I could make a subframe for any rack position, but with the rack at the stock height the stock would would definitely not fit. That's why I lowered mine as minimally as possible.

Stock what? I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but I think you may have omitted a word.

Sorry, I was multi-tasking at the time and did in fact leave out a word, lol. I meant to say with the rack at the stock height, there is no way to keep the stock hood.

More Progress:

On the lift!

Oil cooler installed, just need to figure out how I want to route my lines. Keeping the pop-up headlights means I have even less space on an already small car.

Will do hopefully this week. I have been too busy working on the car to put the hood back on yet.

Thanks man. Glad to hear those seats are working out for you. I almost want stock seats back in my car now, lol.

Also, spent 4 hours making this magnafuel fuel pump fit into my tiny car. Had to remove the gas tank multiple times and fit my hand behind the inner quarter panel and outer panel to attach the mounting bracket.

I needed a new welder, so I decided to get something nice. I'm looking forward to using it soon, and I have a few thinks I need to weld on this project yet.

Which model number is that pump?

One of my friends has a new MP-4303 he would sell to me pretty cheap, but I'm concerned that it would be overkill. I'm going to be using a PTE 6766 on E85. The 4303 is rated for 2000hp N/A with gasoline. I've got a -10 feed, -6 return, A1000-8 reg.

I was just wondering what turbo you planned to run and how you chose your pump?

It is the same pump your friend has, the 4303. For a 6766, it is probably way overkill, and will likely be fairly noisy. I haven't looked at that turbo much, but I would say there are plenty of in-tank options that would provide enough fuel for that setup. I actually already have my turbo (can be seen earlier in the thread) and I am using a precision gt4276 with a tial housing. I basically chose the biggest electric fuel pump Magnafuel offered, haha.

CKxx 11-16-11 08:53 PM

I gotcha. The 6766 would probably make ~700-750 on E85.

Put the front sus back together with the delrin bushings. She is now sitting on the ground, suspended, for the first time with the engine/trans in the car:

Attachment 711533

Also, this ground clearance is with the car pretty low on the Ohlins adjustable suspension. It would have another two inches likely on a stock height FD.

Very nice. You make me want to sell my V160 and get a Turbo-400.

Also, I did pick up that MP4303. I did the math and the flow @ 75psi is slightly less than 2 Bosch 044 pumps, which it what I was considering as an another option.

evomatt 12-10-11 12:58 AM

Swap looks awesome, any info on that you selling one of those subframes?

If you are building a street car, I would prefer the V160. The 4303 is a good option for the price, and you don't have the complexity of dual 044 pumps and trying to fit them somewhere. I am looking forward to testing out my surge tank setup.

I'm not a sponsor, so this really isn't the place to talk about selling anything.
