I actually just started a new job with Honda R&D and have been really busy with moving, but the steady salary should mean some more progress is coming :).

Sweet as then

Back on track finally! Ordered some goodies this week like GSX S2 cams, billet timing tensioner, timing belt, etc. This car will be finished by spring.

That's awesome man, it's gonna be so clean when it's finished. Great fabrication, definitely makes me want to get a welder and practice up so more so bad.

That's honestly the best way to learn. That's how I started out!

MK3Brent 12-29-10 01:46 PM

Bump. ;)

Anything new to report?

GSXRATED 01-05-11 09:52 PM

Engine was torn down, head was cleaned up, valve springs and seals installed, oil pump installed, made the fuel rail, and a bunch of odds and ends. Exhaust will be going out to get ceramic coating soon.

Some good news. A magazine in the UK wants to do an article on 2JZ swaps and will feature my subframe and car in it!

MK3Brent 03-23-11 10:16 PM

Bump for the best 2JZ swap build yet.

By far the cleanest and most PROFESSIONAL of us all.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the compliment. I really take pride in my work, and it's always nice to get compliments on it from others. The car and swap parts should be featured in PPCmag (UK car magazine) very soon. They approached us at DMH Fabrication and thought we had a very professional looking swap as well, and asked us if they could use my car in the magazine article!

Also, if anyone needs help/advice with their own FD builds, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM with questions. I know how much help I got from this and v8rx7forum back when I was doing my LS6 FD, so I don't mind helping out the swapping community with the experience I have with these cars.:icon_tup:

FINALLY, some more progress. Working on some wiring. I removed all unnecessary wires and am using some Deutsch connectors at the firewall:

Well, a 4L80 is still a good 40 lbs or so heavier, and the TH400 is already heavy enough, lol. The size of a 4L80 is not much bigger, but the FD trans is not that big, so I didn't want anything any bigger.

Thanks for the compliments! I will post up some more pictures of the wiring cleaned up this weekend.
