Great looking products Larry and Jim. This thread is about the Race Shop conversion kit so I'll stay on topic:
Few comments from the peanut gallery:
It was a smart move to offer a forward placement option as a quite a few of us who have already spent a bit of money on paint not foreseeing the rearward option will not likely want to mess with the firewall. In fact, quite a few of your customers will likely being converting over from other LS1 conversion kits on the market. Also, for the layman, it is certainly a lot easier to cut a couple inches off the front of the shifter opening in transmission tunnel and use an offset shifter or GTO trans. I have read bad reviews about the mushy GTO linkage, but I do know that there are other non-plastic options on the market to correct this problem.
With that said, had this firewall option existed previously I would have cut the firewall and called it a day. But it didn't, so that's not really even an option for me at this point.

- When will pricing be available?
- Are you considering making a transmission mount for the forward option so that buyers are not forced to fabricate their own, or purchase mounts through other sources and hope that they line up correctly?
- What is the weight of the sub-frame, and have you made any final determinations on final material construction options?
- What type of guarantee or warranty will be provided?
- What is the anticipated ship date?

The kit look's really nice. 2008 should be a good year to buy a LSx FD subframe seeing as the competition has heated up. Now to decide who gets my money...

Well let's see, you have Hinson, Granny, Pyro, Jimlab and now this one. That's five right there and I most likely missed a few. Paul_3rdGen also made one but I don't know if he sold the front subframes. He did sell quite a few rear sub-frames.

A few questions about the new subframe:

1) You show the increased adjustment range for camber/etc.. My question/concern is with the bolt washer not being in contact with the u-shaped limiter, with some significant forces on the wheel - can the bolt as a whole slide in or out, thereby changing alignment? For me on the track - the stock adjustments still offer what I need - what is the planned need for extra adjustment? I assume it allows for more negative camber,(as more positive would not help)? How much more will it allow as with the stock setup you can get up to 3 degrees in some cars - that seems more than sufficient - am I missing something?
2) you said utilizing the front holes, other competitors parts can be used - have you verified this - I only ask because there isn't a tremendous range of adjustment in their parts,(maybe up to an inch?) - and I'd hate to purchase say, a Hinson torque arm and find it was too short or too long? It appears that the Granny or Pyro/Dynotested transmission mount would be the best option as it doesn't have a hard and fast mounting point like Hinson - which allows us some leeway using your kit.
As I said in a PM, I'm in for your cradle as soon as they are available - and the entire kit if there is one for the front location.
I for one am thrilled that there is this many people making kits for LS motors in the FD - Every one has its shortcomings and they are all making their own better in response.

You have Hinson, Granny, and Dynotested, essentially. Pyro = Dynotested, who sold Granny's kit before, and now sell's jimlab's design. I don't think anyone is buying Granny's anymore, though.

Raceshop's does look clean, but the firewall mod will turn alot of people with no fab skills away.

I'm not going to be offering the kit for the V8 swap but I finished the kit for my car.
I thought I would share some pictures to show it anyway. The car still needs to be wired and plumbed but all the fabrication is done.
I putting it on ebay and I'm selling it as a unfinished project... 1993 Mazda RX7 LS1 V8 (R1)
Anyway I wanted to show the exhaust , air box, body brace, updated trans. mount and engine covers. I have a ton of time in this car if you know anyone that might be interested have them check it out.
