If you wait it out you can sell a GTUs fairly easy. If you don't want to wait have someone fix it. Have you asked for help with your current engine yet?

what i was referring to....

i agree with selling the GTUs. you can probably sell it and by a pre sr swapped, or a pre turbo ka for what money you would get for a GTUs.. after all it is kind of a collectors item since only 1500 were made. any wya you got with it, good luck. not a big fan of the KA, but they do have good torque compared to the rotary haha,

i say do what ever you want to do.. fu*k everybody else. i did a sr20det swap in a s14 i had a while back. (funnest car ever) and i got to 340rwhp and 322 ftlbs for fairly cheap. (just did a fuel system and got a mustang mass air flow sensor and boost controller and cranked it up!! haha. but ya i would recomend trading your gtu for a s13 (or s14) and going sr20det. there are countless people who have done that swap, parts are everywhere, and its pretty cheap.(i bought the car for 2500 motor for 2200 and put 2000 into it and sold it for 7,000.) but do whatever you want. just dont stop mid project and bitch about it and sell it before you finish it. (if you do go that route.. i saw a s15 motor and trans for 2600. yes it had the 6 speed trans. i could look that back up and see if its still available)

actually, now that we are on the discussion kind of of getting an s13 or s14 to swap, in the new modified or super street (dont remember which one) there is an article about a company that makes a kit to make swapping an RB25/26 engine very easy.

People are really going to have a fit when they see the completed GTUs turbo V8 drag car with a straight axle out back that's in progress done.

Boy, do I get tired of hearing people call the KA a "truck engine." No one calls the VQ a truck engine! Why not? What is the criteria for it being a "truck engine" anyway, that it was at some point and in some form located within the engine bay of a pickup? I suppose the rotary is a truck engine then too, huh?

I don't hear people whining about those "truck engine" LS1's...

That's cause there has never been an LS1 in a truck... now LS2 is another story.

But, I see your point. Although, who cares, it's a KA24DE. I won't call it a truck motor, just a turd.

The KA isn't so bad. The point is though, that design of it has many advantages over the common SR20 swap. People dump these motors and go to all the trouble of swapping in an SR20 just to get a turbocharged car when the KA has a lot of superior design aspects. The block is taller for a better rod/stroke ratio and the valvetrain uses a cam-on-bucket design that rids the engine of rocker arms, not to mention the block itself being iron. The only real disadvantage of it is that it's not as light as an SR, it doesn't come with a turbo on it (at least, here in the states), and there's probably not QUITE as many parts for it as there are for the SR20.

I'm not about to go ripping out an engine and swapping in the KA, but it's laughable to think that the SR20 is superior solely because it's got an aluminum block.
