Has anyone tried this?

I know someone with a thrashed 944 in their front yard that they will give me if I just get it out of there. I'm not sure if its the turbo'ed one or not but I might be real interested in trying a swap of this engine when the 13b gives up the ghost.

 

Porsche parts = EXPENSIVE

944 NA motor has 143hp or something close to that for the 8-valve motor. Not worth the swap.

Either do a SBC, LS1 or 302 swap. If you've got some $$ and want something different but powerful pick a S2000 motor.

The idea of a free car was good, wasn't sure if dropping the engine in the car would be worth the hassle.

I get the impression it won't.

I thought about droppign the 289 currently in my Fairlane into car when I go and retro rod the thing (347 stroker in the fugure). I don't know, I may just keep everything stock.

 

if the car is functional, it might be worth it to take anyway, just to part out and fund your own swap...

 

Or the hospital bills if my wife finds out that I brought another clunker home.
