MK3Brent, I live in Greensboro, NC as well! Where is your shop?? I've been following this thread and has been wanting to do a 2jz swap in my FD for a while. I'd love to come by your shop and check out the car!!

MK3Brent 03-09-12 09:57 PM

Hey,

The shop is my friend's.
It's been kinda dead lately with the car. He's too busy to have room for me at the moment.

Gotta either put the ABS back on or delete it... then wire it up, fix the radiator, and whatnot.

Excellent thread and build bro, I am planning a future 2JZ swap and this thread gave me a TON of useful information. Much appreciated!

I don't suppose you feel like making some more motor mounts?

I was considering cutting some from 3" delrin rod and just putting a nice fat grade 8 bolt through it.

No, wouldn't feel comfortable doing that at this stage.
These are still a prototype as far as I'm concerned.
Once the car is functional, I'll fully test them.

I'd actually like revise the design to make them captive, and replace the bolt with a shoulder bolt.

MK3Brent you sold/parted out your 2JZ setup, didn't you?

Or are you still going through with it?

What more do/did you have left, anyways??

If you decided to give up on the project, why?

MK3Brent 04-05-12 08:09 AM

Nope, it's all still here. :)
Gotta do the brake lines, IC piping, radiator return port relocated, add more piping to the exhaust, drop the fuel tank to clean and install 2x 255LPH pumps, possibly run all new fuel lines, wiring, and maybe fuse box relocation.

Just haven't had the time lately, so my friend in Greensboro will do what he can.

Yeah, I'm using whatever I have already. :-\
I have so many parts for various projects of mine.

My 1XXXhp supra setup is in the same boat, but tons of stuff that needs to be done.

On the plus side, I did finish building my bike. :-D

MK3Brent 06-04-12 02:00 PM

Might finish it this month.. We'll see.

Got other stuff on the plate.

CKxx 06-06-12 09:15 AM

That's pretty cool. Do you have any picture of what it looked like when you started?

Any updates on your project?

What's left to do?

MK3Brent 09-06-12 08:05 PM

CJ thinks 4 more weeks.
Problem is getting it in the shop to work on it.

Been a lot of other cars being through the shop.

Just takes time.

YoshiFD3S 09-10-12 12:48 PM

I know the feeling.

What I hate most is having one thing that holds up the whole project for months.

In my case, it's waiting for my turbo to come back from re-assembly/balancing from having a new exhaust turbine and housing installed.

That and of course wiring...

-_-;;

red87tll 10-23-12 04:56 PM

Anything new out of this?

MK3Brent 10-23-12 05:53 PM

I'm traveling through the rest of October and to mid November.
When I come home, we'll see how it's going.

I'll definitely get some photos up soon whenever I can.
