Wow, never seen that before. But there's an error in the auction description. The word cursed is mixed up with the word blessed.

If it's stock around 27-29mpg. Most modded 'vettes and camaro's I've seen get around 22-23mpg. Still not bad. The best I ever got grandma drivin' around town was ~19mpg IIRC.

ugly? How so?

Looks like a clean swap to me. Makes 600+hp and gets 30mpg. You probably can't say either.

No rice, exterior looks fairly stock, except the wing. Even still, car is super clean.

Lets not turn this into a rotary vs non rotary thread.

That is a BAD *** swap.

Even worth bidding on!

Best part about it is the reliability. I love the 13BREW, but after going through several of them I'd definitely consider a swap like this.

I just don't think the third gen can qualify as a sleeper. yeah you don't expect to see that under the hood, but if you were to pull up on one, anyone would expect it to have some muscle. Even bone stock, the car just looks fast. escort = sleeper, geo metro= sleeper, sunfire=sleeper etc.

Compared to other cars, sure, but compared to other FDs owned by people who can afford aftermarket wheels and tires, that's a sleeper...

Thanks for the compliments and uh.. the other comments.

As for ugly, there is something to be said about 600 reliable horsepower. Not many with a 3rd gen can say they have both. This is a true street car, not some race car with a license plate. Happy bidding!

Is the 600 HP easily modulated ?

That is, can you use her on a road-course, or is she only for the drag strip ?

TIA,

"The transmission is a 4 speed automatic with a 3200 [rpm] stall lockup converter."

I'm guessing it won't work well on a road course.

Cool

I'm guessing it won't work well on a road course.
Is that an educated guess or just a sling of crap that you hope will stick to the wall on a message board full of 17 year old wanna be's?

What cars has JimBlab actually driven on a road course or better yet what RX-7's does JimBlab actually own that run at all???

This conversation is fruitless since anyone in this particular thread have no intentions of owning a car of this magnitude. As you will notice I did not start this thread nor did I even start a thread notifying anyone on this board of this car for sale. If I seem brash in my response, it's an understandable reaction to people that are simply ignorant to what they are talking about (this car).

Folks like Jimblab are laughed at on other boards (ie. www.V8RX7Forums.com) that thrive on innovation, creativity and the ability to turn a dream into reality without calling VISA for an increase in your credit limit.

I don't have pictures of every UPS delivery that came to my house nor do I brag about how fast my car might be if it ever makes it off the jackstands. This is a very fast and real car that will be appreciated by someone that can look past the fact that the 'soul' has been removed or who can understand the rotary motor isn't the planets most important invention to date.

I could care less if I rub anyone here the wrong way as I have nothing to offer this close minded community and I have learned this message board has little to offer in terms of engine swaps or fast RX-7's (oxymoron). Now if I want to learn about which company has the best group buy on a carbon fiber colored hood which actually weighs more than the stock hood; I feel right at home.

Get ready everyone; Jimblab the cut-and-paste commando is preparing his 4 hour response!

Bye.

My mistake, automatics with 3200 rpm stall converters are perfect for road course use. Of course, you're desperate to sell, so...

What cars has JimBlab actually driven on a road course
3rd gen. RX-7, MKIV Supra, Z06 Corvette. I guess you'd know better than me, though, right?

or better yet what RX-7's does JimBlab actually own that run at all???
How original.

You've got to be kidding me... a car of this magnitude?!?

As you will notice I did not start this thread nor did I even start a thread notifying anyone on this board of this car for sale.
Nor did you post it for sale on www.v8rx7forum.com, probably because you were embarrassed to let others know you had to sell your precious car.

Folks like Jimblab are laughed at on other boards (ie. www.V8RX7Forums.com) that thrive on innovation, creativity and the ability to turn a dream into reality without calling VISA for an increase in your credit limit.
Like I said, broke is your recurring theme. Get a better paying job.

I don't have pictures of every UPS delivery that came to my house
No, but pictures of the junk yards you prowled for parts for your car might be interesting...

This is a very fast and real car that will be appreciated by someone that can look past the fact that...
...you could barely afford a 3rd gen. RX-7. Oops, make that can't afford a 3rd gen. RX-7.

I could care less if I rub anyone here the wrong way as I have nothing to offer...
...except a lot of whining about how much other people spend on their cars. Don't worry, we'd never mistake it for jealousy.

Get ready everyone; Jimblab the cut-and-paste commando...
...took two whole minutes to refute everything you posted.

You should have stayed in school longer or learned to type faster. Probably both.

^^^

Looks like a clean install and would be an awesome car but what is with all the rotary hate? From what I read there was more positive comments than negative ones.

If I seem brash in my response, it's an understandable reaction to people that are simply ignorant to what they are talking about (this car)
"THIS IS ONE MAZDA THAT IS NOT CURSED WITH THE ROTARY ENGINE"
"without fear of blowing an apex seal"
"Original rotary was junk and is long gone"

Those are direct quotes from your listing. Perhaps jimlab responses were an understandable reaction to someone that is simply ignorant to what they are talking about (Rotary)

Great looking car. Considering that on a road course, there is seldom any time when the engine would fall below midrange rpm (other than when leaping out of the pits), the stall converter point is pretty irrelevant, though for street use, I'm sure we can all agree that it would get old.

What experience are you basing this opinion on? Have you ever driven an automatic with a higher rpm stall converter?

I know some corners/hairpins where the speeds and RPMs are very low, hence a high-stall torque converter would be very upsetting.

Hey, I figured out how to make my 3800 stalled auto great on road courses...

I put a T56 in it.

Turbo 3.8 motors don't like sticks, but they aren't really road course engines anyway, though they do have a pretty nice torque curve for a turbo motor.
