Bolt-in turbo4 mounts for the FC are done!

Figured Id post this from grannys website:

***
...New 2nd gen RX-7 / Ford 2.3 Turbo Basic Kit...
Want to go fast w/ 4 cylinders? The 2.3 Ford is very capable and isvery affordable. Most turbo 2.3's came with a Garrett T3 turbo. Theywere available in...
...'79-'84 Mustang 2.3 GT
...'79-'82 Capri Turbo RS
...'84-'86 Merc XR7 Turbo
...'83-'88 Ford T-Bird Turbo Coupe
...'84-'86 Ford SVO
...'85-'89 Merkur XR4-ti
The T-5 and T-9 manual transmissions were used, as well as the C3and A4LD automatics. Our 2.3 Ford Basic Kit is bolt-in as usual, andleaves plenty of room for downpipe and IC plumbing. The 2.3 Basic Kitincludes chassis bracket assy left and right, installation hardware, and choice of T5, C3, or A4LD transmission crossmember. Available forsale Jan 18, 2006, priced at $225. + shipping. Call for more details orto order...360-391-1208 or 360-853-8219. Pictures and websiteadditions/updates to follow. Stay tuned.

Also, in correspondance before that, it turns out hes using the merkur mounts.

I just found a nice head-slapper in that:

""The XR mounts are longer hollow aluminum parts vs the shorter steel T-bird brackets. We like them because we can put a puck style rubber out next to the RX-7's chassis without needing to use the special hard-to-find stock mounts.

FWIW,the T-bird's chassis mount holes are the same width apart as ourexisting 5.0 cradle, it's just that the 5.0 mount position for the 2ndgen RX-7 is farther ahead/higher for it's oil pump to clear thesteering rack. But as far as width between the mount eyes and saddlewidth, the entire T-bird mount assy would bolt to our existing SBFcradle. We can easily adjust the mount position to re-locate the 2.3,but cost is going to be quite a bit higher for a cradle styleinstallation vs the direct-to-chassis bracket method. ""

it woulda fit the whole f**king time.

Anyway, just to add insult to injury hes done right after I blew a grand on books and tuition, and its right after christmas... but at least now theres a bolt-in option for a MEGACHEAP, but just as capable turbo 4 from ford into the beloved FC. Time to save up and dive in, boys and girls :yeah:
