I'm looking to have some hubs re-splined to match Turbo-II/big mazda CV splines. I believe they are 31mm x 30 spline. Does anyone know a drivetrain shop with the appropriate tool?

dont qute me on this but i am shure that the hub side of both t2 and na half shafts have the same spline count and diameter. the big differance in thehalf shafts are the length. i am shure you can run the lsd rear with matching half shafts on 4 bolt hubs with out problems. search "nismoconvert" he is on this forum and had a sweet write up on lsd swap with 4 bolt hubs.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I'm not looking to use the 4 bolt RX-7 Hubs. I have a Miata that is getting a TII diff and I'd like to have the hubs broached to the larger RX-7 spline so I can use off the shelf axles. There are a few other ways to make this combo work, but I would prefer to do the hubs. I'll post here if I locate someone to do the work.

Instead of the broach check with some of the local machine shops to see if they can ERW(not sure if this is correct name), but they cut the spline with what looks like a wire. here is a pic of a hub we had made a few years ago using this technique(only the splines were done this way. owner of car has the piece that was cut out as well). I don't recall the shop that did the work unfortunately, but check with some of the CNC shops and maybe they recognize the technique. broaches are terribly expensive. http://images.realride.com/icgi-bin/...1.jpg&img=&tt=

Ah, yeah you are talking about Wire EDM. I suppose that would be one option, but my guess is that it would be more expensive than some of my secondary options (custom axle shafts, modified and redrilled RX-7 hubs) considering the creation of a CAD file and machine time. I'm looking at broaching because it is a simple and fairly cheap way to do the cutting. As you said though, the tool is expensive and the trick will be finding one. Thanks for the idea though, I'll keep it in mind.

Just curious why not use the Rx7 hubs and brakes, A few years ago I saw a Miata with T2 front and rear brakes and a T2 rear end, with nice 5 Bolt wheels. I'm sure it took some machining, but probably less then your talking about here.
