7mgte Rx7

My friend Jake who owns his own shop is intrested in trying to convince PIP on these boards to put a 7MGTE in his car if the engine blows in the near future. He is already considering selling the car, so we were thinking about all contributing to the consruction of the car. I would be donating my 7m ( once I get my 2jz ), PIP could donate the body, and Jake would do a complete rebuild, polished hoses, new vacum lines ect ect on my 7m. Of course we'd be doing alot of Custom work, polishing everything, front mount IC, full 3 inch exhaust ect ect. The works. We figured we'd sell it slightly modded with all new custom made parts and a rebuild and split it three ways. Do you think this would sell for around 6k or is that pushing it? It would probably have 300rwhp when its complete, and the 7m can be built up to ( I've seen ) 714 rwhp or so, so the car would have alot of potential ( For dragging, even racing courses since the body is much lighter then a MK3 Supra ).

Anyone ever done / seen it?

I guess it'd be a neat project for a drag car...

The 7m weighs so much more than the 13b and it'll really throw off the weight balance of the car, which is a main reason why the car handles the way it does...

You could probably find a buyer for $6k if the bodya nd interior were clean too.

7Ms are garbage, I don't see why he'd want to put one in a 7. I'm all for being innovative and playing w/ different combinations but pick a different motor. The 7m is notorious for head gasket failure, not just because the stock piece is crap, but because of many of the motors coming from the factory with a flawed head.
