Correction: After speaking with Jared @ Speed For Sale:
They didn't "unnecessarily" shorten the outer tie rods: They were still in the process of experimenting with different tie rod size combinations.
He explained that it was more important to get the perfect inner tie rod size, whether custom-made or not, because that's the one that gets the most abuse.
The outer tie rod that was left on the car was just temporary which is why it was barely tightened in place.
With the custom inner tie-rod, a factory OEM outer tie-rod should fit right in and adjust just fine.
After calling Kauffman to check on the alignment, Jared was 100% right. They already finished installing the outer tie rods and are finishing up the alignment as we speak!
I'll be picking up the car this evening!
Jeremy @ Speed For Sale's schedule is busy for the rest of December, but if they can squeeze me in for a tune then they definitely will!
In the meantime, there a few odds and ends I can take care of on the car in meantime, so it's cool.
At least I can still drive it around (gently) if I really want/"need" to! hahahah ;P

Trying to get Jeremy @ Speed For Sale to squeeze me in for a tune in these next couple weeks.
I'd like to run about ~15psi on my setup and see if we can squeeze out about 400-450whp from my setup. I don't really want any more power than that.
Remaining To Do List
1.) Drill and tap my coolant filler neck to pop in my Defi gauge's coolant sensor probe. Jared recommended getting the probe as close as possible to the head, so that's where he said I should put the probe. Works for me.
2.) Adjust my clutch pedal. Clutch grabs right at the top, so gotta fix that. Easy.
3.) Wire up speedo and tach. My brother makes it sound easy...we'll see how easy. I have the Dakota Digital boxes, but I'm sure it's not gonna be easy... :/
4.) Repair/replace valve cover. Accidentally over-torqued it and cracked one of them. Doh!
5.) Install Greddy Profec B boost controller. Vacuum line part is easy. Taking the time to cleanly install the controller where I want it and splice the power/ground wires where I want them, might take longer.
6.) Flush the tranny fluid (again) and go with some 75w90. Long story.
7.) Figure out what I'm scrubbing against at full steering lock. Hopefully installing some little spacers might help. *shrugs*
8.) Figure out why my front bumper doesn't want to sit into place all the way. FMIC maybe? Hopefully something simple stupid. I was in a rush to throw on the bumper when I dropped it off last Saturday to drive it to Kauffman for the alignment so it looks pretty sloppy right now. lol

10.) Purchase and install a coolant overflow tank.
11.) Purchase and install DEI turbo blanket. mMmMmM titanium....
12.) Install exhaust heat wrap on turbo manifold and down-pipe. Install heat-shielding onto heater-hose and any near-by hoses, piping, etc.
13.) Figure out why passenger headlight won't go down. Motor appears to be constantly engaged which drains battery if I don't disconnect motor. Boooo.... Not finding much information on this online. RX-7 guys, any ideas?
14.) Figure out why stock gas gauge isn't working. Probably a simple wiring thing.
15.) Wire up 2JZ A/C pump to RX-7 harness. Once the A/C is recharged it should work then. Heat already works!

I'll try and get the wifey to record a vid of me driving it tomorrow. It still runs rough since it needs a tune so don't expect a video if me flying by @ 18psi with the HKS BOV chirping in your ear or anything. LOL

My boss is actually letting me borrow a set of his track 18x9.5 Enkei RPF1's with some 275/35/18 Toyo R888's until I can get my own wheels. The tires are pretty worn so I will need to be careful, but it's entirely temporary. He said I can always put on other tires if I choose to.

Update
Installed the RPF1's. I'm starting to like them more and more. Wishing I had just kept those RPF1's I had before. -_-;;;; *SMH*
Really surprised too. The 275/35/18's actually do fit pretty well up front. Even lowered, they just baaaaaarely scrub/scrape the fender liners in the front which surprised me. Really glad I got that pull and roll now! lol
Okay, so I definitely did NOT plan on spending about 8 hours tweaking and adjusting my front bumper to get it to actually sit flush against my front fenders. It looked terrible before. Among other things, I had to dremmel the bottom inside of the bumper/lip a little...what a PITA. lol Still needs a liiiiiiittle bit of tweaking, but it's definitely good enough to drive on now. I'm happy.
So that was my Saturday. Check her out, now! Looking like a proper FD, now!

On Sunday I was tired and sore after wrestling that bumper all day Saturday but somehow I ended up cleaning the house for 6 hours and doing yard work? Yeah, weird. lol at least my wife was happy enough to take a video of me driving Nana, though! hahaha!

My wife's comments about "Not on those wheels" is because of the Toyo R888 tires being uber sticky tires that I couldn't drift on even if I was stupid enough to try. lolol xD
So after an awesomely productive weekend I spent about 2 hours researching wiring diagrams and schematics to plan out the next couple weeks.
I really want to tackle the speedo and tach wiring next. Doesn't look as daunting as I thought.
The "Input" of the Dakota will have to read the VSS signal coming directly from the R154 and the "Output" will just go to the RX-7 Speedo wire. Not as difficult as I thought. After that, you just have to road-calibrate the gauge using coarse and fine adjustment buttons on the Dakota unit which is easy now thanks to cell phones and GPS "speedometer" apps. lol
For the tach, I'm just wondering if it's as simple as splicing the CAS wire off the AEM straight to the tach signal wire for the RX-7. It probably won't read 1RPM:1RPM though. IF it does, I'll be shocked. If not, I'll probably just buy the Dakota "SGI-8" model Tachometer adapter and calibrate that.
I'd really like to try and make some progress on that, and then as time permits I'll try to tap in my Defi temp sensor and/or install the Greddy boost control solenoid.
Those are my goals for next few weekends. Next pay-day if I have the money I'll pick up a turbo blanket, oil-catch can, and coolant overflow reservoir.
In the meantime, I'm just waiting on the guys @ Speed For Sale to let me know when they can get me in for tune which is fine since I've got all these little garage projects to fill the time. lol :P
So yeah...Loving life right now! Everytime I open my garage door and see this....

Oh...one thing I definitely learned though after fitting these RPF1's though...
19" wheels....definitely out of the picture.
No way in heck can/will they clear the FD's front fenders. The circumference of the FD fenders is simply too tight.
The 255/35/19 tires I considered running were going to be another .5" thicker in diameter and these 275/35/18's are already baaaaaaaaaaarely fitting.
MAYBE after I do the widebody, but even still it's just too risky. It's just not worth it.
I think I'm just gonna stick with 18's and probably just go with something like 255/35/18's in the front and 295/30/18 in the rear.

I was still waiting on Speed For Sale to pencil me in for a tune, so for the last several weeks I was just kind of tinkering around on it, trying to troubleshoot my non-working gauges, and a few other things.
It runs and drives and everything.
I'm just gonna have to buy another AEM, then get it tuned still.
Hopefully I get a decent enough tax return that I can pick up another AEM and afford to get it tuned. SFS charges like $1k for their 3-day full-on drivability/power tune, which is what I need. Hopefully they give me a DISCOUNT considering I spent ~$12k at their shop last year. LOL?
So yeah, might be a minute before another update..

The subframe remained at the same level. We simple cut and fabricated around it. The LCA's and rack remained at the factory height, but the rack itself has been moved forward and now runs directly straight across instead. IIRC it's the inner tie-rods which then had to be shortened in order to compensate. The outter tie-rods remain at stock length.
The sway-bar had to be relocated and is now mounted directly underneath the steering rack via custom-bracketing and mounts.
It actually feels really solid. I definitely wish we had made room to install some nice polyurethane/rubber-ish transmission bushings to reduce vibrations felt in the cabin, though. lol
It drives surprisingly smooth though! Feels really good for the most part. Just a few nuances I'd like to address later.
I'm running 275 Toyo R888's all around, so that obviously helps the car feel "planted" on the corners. :P
I don't wanna "push it" until it gets tuned though, of course.
Overall I really like it, though! It drives really well.

With that said, it was a nice day outside yesterday (except for the ridiculously high pollen count here in Georgia)...so I decided to take some new pictures of Nana alongside Jun-chan, my daily-driver 300+whp Sonata.

I actually just started my 1JZ swapped FD project last year out of my garage. Progress is slowly but surely, Ive got a metal fab friend helping me with the custom subframe. i just wish i had more time to work on it

Sorry for the lack of updates.
I moved out to Australia for a new job in January and I'm gonna be here for about a year-
This is my current daily-driver:
1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T
As an FYI, FD's are ridiculously expensive here. A decent series 8 will run you $20k+ all day. Spirit R's sell for like $40k. I couldn't seem to find a turbo Supra but you can snag an N/A for under $10k. GT-R's can run from $30k-ish from an R32 to upwards of $50-80k for an R34 easily.
My FD is currently sitting at a friend's shop back in Georgia. I'll be throwing money at it here and there to fix and upgrade things so that it'll at the very least be 100% tuned and drivable when I come to the US for Christmas vacation.
It probably won't even be touched for at least a couple months though because the friend who owns the shop is booked solid working on other projects.
I'll do my best to update the thread as things happen, though.

She lives again. This time for good. Been a busy last few months!
Did you notice the VIS Scoot CF hood box next to the car in the garage pic? The other box next to that are my Shine Auto Burnout widebody fenders. Shine Auto CF rear-lip spoiler sitting around in another box somewhere too. lol..
Holy heat shield, Bat Man!! lol... it's crude but functional. The custom A/C lines that I had made previously run WAY too close to the turbo, so something had to be done. Graphite exhaust heat-wrapped the entire turbo manifold and down-pipe. <3
Alignment 100%! Tie rods look okay. No immediate bump-steer symptoms. My brother's driving the car around all the time so if he or I notice any issues then I'll just get the extended pieces to compensate.
New windshield last week. Looking like a new car!

Now running an AEM Infinity 8. Running street tune at wastegate ~10psi. Brother says it feels like an easy ~350+rwhp. Breaks loose in 2nd gear on 255's when getting into boost. Plan is to run ~15-18psi to make no more than 500rwhp.
Purchased the newer SGI-5/8e tach and speedo boxes. Funny that they came out with newer models during all this time. lol
Dropped using a newer Greddy Profec EBC to just use an AEM boost solenoid and control it all from the Infinity software.
Wheels are BBS LM replicas 19x9.5 +30 235/35 and 255/35 tires. Temporary beater wheels. Plan remains to run the Work Emotion 11R's off my Skyline once I move back to the US. I am really liking how 19's look now, though... So that may change again. lol
Tune coming VERY soon. Literally just waiting on some local tuner's schedule to open up.
There are a few remaining fabrication bits to be done and the gauges still aren't wired in yet. ..but that's all that's left.
I'll be home in mid December. Going to put on CF hood and rear-spoiler then. Will try to take lots more pictures and videos.

Looking good Michael! This is Aaron. We spoke on FB a couple weeks back about your car. I just put a deposit down on a red 93 and going to be starting a 1jz swap.
Can you give me details on what cooling fan setup you used? I am considering using the Tech2 radiator and FMIC, but want a good fan setup to keep temps under control. I saw that you posted this in another journal:

Be careful.
Just because you use fancy electric fans, doesn't mean you're providing the necessary CFM's to properly cool a 2JZ.
My shop actually told me I need something like 3,300+ CFM, which is also what this web-site suggests.

On my 2JZ setup, I think we're going with some Porsche dual electric fans + shroud that pump something like 3,600 CFM's...I forget.

Whoa, you definitely need tie-rod spacers. Limited-travel suspensions systems(like lowered coilovers) aren't going to display a lot of wild bump steer symptoms in normal driving.
Is there any lateral rack movement? It should be pretty straightforward to determine some static drop and get the correct tie rod end solution.
