The ECU pinout is as follows, supply 12volts+ to the 4 pins on the right, and ground the 2 highlighted pins on the left. This is just to get the motor running, if you wish to integrate it into your existing chassis wiring, you will need to do the appropriate translation. Mine is wired to a switch panel and a junction block where it receives the 12volts. I will be happy to diagram that if anyone is interested in doing so. |

Haha no updates, sorry. Car has been in the shop getting cold pipe and other goodies fabricated. Hopefully some good news soon!
As for wiring into a stock fc, I'll still need to do some research. I don't have a stock car it's pretty much just going to me telling you where I would connect the 1jz to the factory harness in order to keep it stock as possible. |
Yeah thars all i really need. Ill prolly run aftermarket gauges or cluster or a switch board in the console...did u ever try to use the stock jz motor brackets? Ive seen some here with the stock brackets with longer motor mounts (like yours, just longer)
|
I did not, I suppose you can if you make a dog leg type extension. I just thought it was easier to cut some steel plates to fit the side of the motor and weld to it.
Having a weird issue where the car won't boost :( but aside everythings in place. I'm really thinking about getting a new chassis when this set up is dialed in and swap it over. Would be awesome to have in a street car. |
Buy cressida. Swap setup into cressida. Call it a day with a few brews....but seriously i love seeing jz`s into different chassis id say stick to it. Its something different
|
haha I'd do a soarer or s chassis if I was going to put it in anything different. I meant a new FC! This one was wrecked before, we didn't know it until after we bought it. Frame is bent, luckily in front of the strut towers.

Quick update...the fab work is finished up. Running 3'' I.D. Stainless downpipe w/ flex section.
I really need to do something about the top radiator hose. Aside from that eye sore, everything else looks pretty good. Attachment 683964 Attachment 683965 All fab work done by Martin at Parts Shop Max! |
hell yeah Dane! Everything is turning out proper. What did you do about relocating the p.s. res? I've gotta figure something out myself.

What's the status on your project? |
Is there any way the engine could have sat lower to clear the hood?

She rips! First test run and the cops were called haha. Just been getting this thing ready for paint lately. Rolled my rears with a jack handle to hopefully clear the new wheels. Anyway I'll see if I can't spell the swap out a little simpler for those interested in doing it themselves. Here's a pic of the rears, it's my first time go easy haha.

This thing is awesome! Great build.

Sweet build man. I'm currently researching this for myself. Just checking nothing major gets in the way for RHD cars as I'm in AUS.

The aero kit I got for this thing didn't fit quite right...actually the rear didn't fit at all. So before I set it on fire in a raging fit I cut valences out of it. Deciding if it'd be worth cleaning them up and running a rear diffuser and nice 3.5'' exhaust out of the passenger side.
And yeah there's a fair bit of reverse rake going on, it clears everything and gets awesome angle set up like this so I'm going to leave it for now. It'd look way cool with more camber in the front and lowered 2'' but....maybe later. Attachment 659318 Attachment 659319 |
Id probably leave it stock bodied but great job on the swap. That chassis is easier to swap than it was in my FD

Glad I finally found the build thread for this car. I love it! What kind of quick release are you using on your wheel and do you like it? Looking into getting one myself.

thank you for letting me use the lca's! I'm super pumped with what PBM has going on with FC parts! definitely some really good suspension/steering solutions!

Definitely taking it to the next level. I've heard of people modifying stock LCA's but nothing like this.

Back on the topic of the engine swap...can anyone recommend a good source for small diameter LED lights? I'm working on an idiot light set up, the wiring is all done but I have yet to see a decent indicator light that would fit in this small space. This goes where the stock clock/idiot lights used to go.

If all you are looking for is a light these are only 5mm in size so they should fit. You would just need to make a panel. Also, was curious about the LCA's. Is there enough room with those to run 18's up front? Just curious because I know there's usually a clearance issue there. |
So the PSM lca's have sway bar provisions now? Nice! What dimensions are the wheels?
