Here's the engine.

As for the motor mounts I cut out the factory ones an made my own an welded them in just ahead of where the originals were. I hung the motor an trans in the bay to figure out where I wanted it an tacked the mounts in, pulled it back out an fully welded them in. The engine also sits about 3/4" or so above the steering link.

Well, I finally got my turbo mani and turbo mounted!

So its time to start running intercooler piping and all that fun mess.

Then on to wiring the engine up and trying to get it to run!

Alright, well it has come to the point where I am ready to purchase a standalone ems.

Looking for suggestions. I am not looking for crazy power, but just a reliable ems that is plug and play.

Been doing research on haltech and aem. Does anyone make a plug and pplay harness or is this something I have to make myself?

Wiring scares me lol, but I am willing to learn.

I am also looking for ease of tuning. I am also researching tuning options near and far with chassis dynos and such.

Never installed a standalone before. Only messed with piggy back systems, and really didn't get too involved in that.

Would I be better using the stock ecu or am I on the right track with standalone?

Any input is appreciated!

Well im bringing this back since im still building the truck.

I went with the aem ems and a fresh streetported rebuild on my jdm s5 TII swap.

Its getting closer...

Truck looks good. Keep the updates coming! And we will bring the traffic back, we just gotta give them cool stuff to look at. Like your build for example.

Did you ever figure out all your wiring,? I know that was a pretty old post but just curious.

Agreed up untill this point... Now I've seen it and I'm more confused.

OP why didn't you just build a frame from scratch and drop a RHD cab on top? Cause not much looks even remotely simmilar to the orignal truck.

I dunno maybe I'm missing something with the "minitruck" thing. I mean the truck's ability to haul motorcycles is ruined.

It is a show truck. I enjoy fabricating and creating something completely original. I guess if u cant appreciate that then i am sorry.

The truck has seen many changes but still isnt driving.

mymmeryloss 12-12-14 08:26 PM

New frame is almost complete. Hopefully running by summer...
