Just so you know, only the '77-'79 ones (and I think '80 wagons) were RWD.

I got a budy who is puerto rican and loves those old schools. Maybe if you convinced him of selling his project glc he would do it. Let me know how mcuh you are willing to spend and I'll talk to him.

In the U.S., the GLC sedan and hatchback were RWD from '77-80. The RWD wagon continued until at least '83. My first car was an '85 FWD 4-door "Deluxe" sedan with the 1.5 liter carbureted 4 which produced an earth-shaking 69 horsepower, according to the brochure. Not a terrible car, but not at all sporty.

My parents had an '80 wagon which was also really, really slow and almost totally rusted out after just nine years on the road. I don't think the Japanese had a good handle on rust prevention until late in the 1980s.
