KY wow glc garage found!!! wow

I been off the rotary, mazda horse for a mn....but ck this out.. the other day I was driving true Rio KY and with the corner of me eye i saw what i thought it was a mazda..so i made a u turn..and stop next to a body shop and on the back of it there she was!!!! a 78 glc!!!! I got of the car and ask....and the owner told me that some lady came to his shop about 20 yrs ago and told him to fix a dent on the left front fender and get some dents here and there.....well she never came back for it after it got fix and painted....after a yr he got the title true the mail.....well it sat in the shop all this time and 6mo ago he put it outside.....ok...i ask is for sale and he said yes!!! i ask if it run and he said yes..but the gas in tank is bad..but he started it with a gas jug..the inside was still semi apart from the paint job...but everything was in boxes...ok..the best part was!!!!!! he told me give me 800 and is yours....I told him i got 700 cash right now...and!! yes is mine.....yay...when home got the trailer and got it......is a 78, 5spd,88k original miles....NO RUST, and a paint job that's looks good.. like it was painted last week... I have a 13b and trans and rear...from a rx4 parts car...that maybe ill do the swap...idk yet..[IMG][/IMG]Name:  050.jpg

there are several at a local mazda shop near me but I have no interest since they are not CA smog exempt

Man so lucky I always drive by our oldest area in town and middle of Florida and look thru barns and old homes and no luck you got super lucky ..

T/you....guys...today I took the gas tank down!! and open it in half..sand blast it..and weld it back...looks new..the gas lines were block off with gunk..I took the out, and for some of you this is a nice trick..I took my torch and heat the line up and all that gunk came out like play Doh!!! then just brake clean and air...tomorrow put it back together!! and I will let you know!!

today I got it running!!!! after i clean the carb...it run's good...yay and the clutch is good...now do some brake work..

today i got the tank back from the sand blaster, going to inst a 3/8 pick up line...and then brace it close... in the other hand took out the power train out of the rx4.

Killer glc mine is the same color , If you have any conversion questions hit me up , I am about half way done with my glc. Rear end and suspension are done on mine , this weekend I'm gonna throw in the 12a and trans I have sitting around .P.S. are you interested in selling the cubby under your dash ?

T/you..man Ill keep you in mind,..lol no..the cubby stay.
im using the cross member and the motor mount cross member from the rx4!!
how did you inst the hidro pedal and pump??

If you look carefully at the sheet metal the stamping for the clutch master cylinder is already there, you just need to cut out the hole. as for pedals...I used a 79 rx7 one. At first I was gonna take out the whole pedal box and swap (my glc was automatic), but then I saw how similar the two pedal boxes were and decided to use just the longer through bolt from the rx7 with the glc pedal box and rx7 brake and clutch pedals. you are on your own for fabbing up a master cylinder push rod since the rx7 one will be too short. I ended up using a bolt that was about an inch longer than the rx7 push rod and turing it down on a grinder

cool..... how about the trans tunnel?? i have to cut mine? or because im using the factory rx4 cross member and mount support!! i don't have to.
