World's smallest rotary engine
World's smallest rotary engine
Called a rotary engine or Wankel engine after its inventor, this design has not been as widely used as the piston-style engine found in most cars today, although it did appear in some models of the Mazda RX-7 and is reappearing in the concept cars of tomorrow.

they're going to use clean burning fuels...and the heat would be minimal in such a small size...exhaust would be undetectable and could be made to exit just about anywhere...using butane or propane would also serve as the cooling agent...imagine just using a cartridge of butane for you cellphone instead of a battery, and having it last 24 hours or more instead of 3 and then you have to charge it again...
well, it's not like they intended it for commercial use. The main idea is to use it for military purposes, where it's not very easy to recharge the battery packs from cellphones, laptops... The mini-engine would serve as a very small generator.
many of the things made for the military end up in everyday use anyway...like the new speakers that are just rubber/plastic stretched out...the rubber was made to generate electricity while being smashed in the motions of walking to recharge equipment....it's not guaranteed that this will ever make it beyond tests, but if it does i look forward to it...cheaper than some of the new "High Tech" batteries that they are producing...
But what about buying fuel? That costs money. I'd rather be able to charge something for very little money than have to go out and buy fuel. Why do you think hybrid engine cars are becoming popular?
Not the smallest, but you can buy it!
