Those big bumpers are hideous. The car would look much better with smaller streamline bumpers or no bumpers at all. Looks like a fireplace mantel. LOL

^ That's what I'm talking about Hector. Those bumpers look way better. I think they came out with the huge bumpers in 75+ when all the emission and new saftey regulations kicked in. That's when most cars looks like *** and had no power.

Thumbs up Love for the '76

The '76 looks good when done right with the lighter jspec/euro 'lighter' bumpers. I think it also looks better if the grille and headlight covers are painted black. Can someone chop up the grille and headlight covers in black so that we can see how it looks?

bumper

The bumper was removed so as a tow bumper could be mounted, this bumper has hing points for a tow bar as a wat to get it to woodburn drag strip. And as for the wheel it as 2nd gen supension front and rear and the wheels are powder coated TII to reflet the fact that it is turbo changed (twin)

Honestly, any RX-4 with a clean body would be a good score for me, but I'd prefer an early car to a later one. Truth be told, though, that's a minor point on my would-my-wife-let-me-get-away-with-this checklist.

Damn guys....

Those are some nice looking RX4's you're posting Can't wait to see what your rhd RX4 looks like after bodywork Hector, and that blue '76 is sweet. All of these remind me of how much I always liked them. Here is a pic of me and one of my boys with my RX4 parked out in front of his house...circa 1985. Bought a set of polished Autobahns and Pirelli P7's brand new for it with my student loan....at least I had my priorities straight Old school FTW!

Here is my RX4.

Hello

Here is my 1974 RX4. And I love it. Its a great looking car and people always tell me it looks like a 70's muscle car. It gets attention every time I take it out. I am the second owner, 34000 original miles, original 13B rotary, and original paint plus interior. Its a 100% stock non restored car.

These were taken this past June during a Mazda meet and drive.

This one was touched up

I also have all the shop manuals if you ever get some so I can help on parts lists etc...

Regards

Max

in all the world people like pointy nose more than merc front (76-78).
Back in 2005 i bought 1977 929 coupe which is the same as rx4 - sadly it had merc front, as my car was for project and most parts where in bad condition i started collecting parts for swaping from merc front to pointy nose.

diferent parts are:

Front fenders (shape is the same, only one diference - pointy nose fenders has place for front bumper coner, - 76+ don't have)
bonnet, bonnet hinges
front grille
Front bumper
lower appron (under the bumper)
rear bumper
rear panel (different mounting holes for lights ant garnish.
so it's quite small list.

rx4 pointy nose is more agresive than merc front, as grille with lights are much deeper, bumpers also look better for my, rear lights and garnish gives a look of real oldschool car.
ofcourse - if car is in good shape (like that blue 1976+ on top) it will look great.
but pointy nose is much better.

So i sold 1977 mazda 929 project and bought 1975 coupe

Hello,

Ya they sort of do. They were taken by two guys, one of which is shown on some of the pictures, during the country drive. I thought they looked cool. The first one where he touched it up and played with some photo settings looks like a brochure.

Its a fun car....

Thanks.

for some reason, rx4's remind me of military tanks... but I still got plenty of love for them..
