what is better?
that's what I thought, but then they tell me that the viyl is going to be more expensive because it is harder to work with..they priced me $400 for the dash in leather..not a bad price I think.
"Just Dashes" quoted me $800 to restore a RX-4 dash. Expensive for sure but it will look like it came from the factory. www.justdashes.com Great looking RX-4 by the way. How many sedans are left? Not many I bet.
Since there's no dash pad available, I'm doing such surgery on my RX-2 dash right now.
Used the grinder to take off the warped hills, then filled the graters with fiberglass mat. Will do the same one more time, then grind everything smooth. Piece of quality leather will cost about $45.00, versus $20 for vinyl, labor from expert upholstery guy (used many times before) about $75.00. Yes, it's not seamless like a job from Just Dashes, but it cost only 15% and is about 85% as good.
