(because that site does kick everyone elses ***.) but some information is reigon, and model year specific.
Eg. FD RX-7. "series-6" version
Production = Nov-91 - Dec-95
US Delivery = May-92 - Dec-95
Known as = 93-model..???? to 95-model
Confusion = All 92 models become a 93 model. Then to make matters worse, all 95-models dont become a 96-model
Eg. M10 Familia / R-100
Production = 68 - 74
US delivery = 70 - 72?
Oz delivery = 69 - 73
JP delivery = 68 - 74
Confusion = Does a non-USA vintage rotary owner feel included.??
Personally, if the site is to attract Vintage rotary owners from across the globe, perhaps the global production dates should be used rather than USA model years as this way, it covers all owners from every country
Note:. Even the "3rd generation" section of this web site has the same problem. Quoted as "93-02" giving a double standard. Confusing USA version for the "93" then the accurate production version for the "02"........ ?????
Then to really confuse you, the "2nd generation" section is listed as "86-92" using Delivery version for the "86" & the USA version for the "92" when many of us know the production was from SEP-85 - OCT-91..
Now I know some of you will just think "This is how it is in the USA, if you dont like it then dont surf here" or "Get off your high horse DMRH". Guys, if we are all passionate about the amazing Mazda rotary & the cars they power, shouldn't that "passion" include accurate information of these cars we love.....???

Series-5 production ceased in Oct-91 but late in 92 Mazda gathered around 500 (I'm told) left over convertable shells & sent them down the line for the "Commemoration special"
Despite the shells getting done before Oct-91, they still become a 92-model due to their assembly coming together then. However, that still makes them 92-models so I stand corrected & apologize for forgetting about these limited run specials.....

Well, as far as dates go, I agree with you comletely DMRH, except on one point. This isn't a vintage rotary site, which is an arena much more suited to global thinking because the company and distribution was growing by leaps and bounds at the time (hell, my car wasn't ever sold this far east in the US, as Mazda never got here before they stopped RX-2 importation). However, the most traffic on the site BY FAR is FC and FD forums, and they're too common and too late-model for anybody to really care, it seems. While those of us into the older cars really care, most of the forum is populated by people who drive FCs as beaters or late-teen to early-20s kids who dump their money into body kits and big turbos.
For a vintage rotary site, I agree that the production dates should be used with the first sticky being "what the hell's up with these dates?". Given that THIS site seems geared and poplated by those who don't give a ****, you won't see the change made here.

I hope it's not down completely. At least the domain is still registered, but I wish somebody knew who to talk to in order to find out for sure. Does anybody know the webmaster?

You asked for it, so you got it. www.vintagerotares.org is up and running. Y'all hop on, look around, and post in the 'Suggestion Box' with any gripes.
