Twin dizzy help
I have a 72 rx2 sedan with the twin dizzy and I recently decided to strip all of the emissions off and clean up the engine bay wiring. in the process I lost my way and now have two mounted distributors that need to be rewired to the motor and coils. need photos or diagrams of how to properly rewire the distributors while bypassing any emissions open circuts. I like the idea of keeping the motor original aside from air pumps and other partially working emissions stuff but cannot find much in photos or diagrams.
I do have a factory service manual but that has not helped either. I think this needs to be looked at as a motor swap install, in other words, starting from scratch.
also do I need both sets of points in the second distributor???
Thanks for any help.

Go in my photo album, there should be a picture or two of my engine bay, that will do until I take pictures in the morning. From what I have understood one of the points (the one on the right) does more work then the other, but they're both needed.

The second set of points are part of emision controls and only operated on warm up.
I agree with the plan to start like a transplant. This is a chance to upgrade. You can still trigger MSD boxes with points and get a hotter spark. Then you can eliminate the second set of points, the balast resistors and the works.
You need to tap into an ignition hot and a battery. Just put new wiring in using the directions from the MSD boxes.
