Toyota 700's in the states??
Hey everyone..
I know this topic isnt rotary related, but since you guys know a fair bit about old Mazdas and hopefully about a few other older Japanese cars, i thought i would ask.
Does anyone here have information about Toyota 700's in the US? I cant find any info anywhere on the net about them and whether they came to the US. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

I don't think they imported them. Sounds like Canada did get them though.
Beautiful cars!

Toyota 700 - the first Publica
The first generation Toyota Publica was introduced in june 1961, modelcode P10. It had an aircooled twin-boxer engine.
In export it was called the 700 and was later replaced by a 1000 version in the same body.
In 1963 a Sport-version was introduced and in 1965 the well-known Sport 800 was introduced.
The Publica of today is the Witz/Yaris/Platz and its related Fun Cargo/Yaris Verso and bB versions.

Cheers for the info KKM...I thought they were called UP10 though? Yep...domestic name in Japan was "Publica" and the UP10 (700) shape came in Wagon and Pickup form im pretty sure.
Didnt know that they came with a 1000cc motor though! Knew about the Publica 800 (UP20) and the Sports 800.
Is there any Publicas in Europe?
Thanks for the replies and info guys!
