T2 VS. 3rd GEN Tranny

I want to know if there are any differences between the '89 T2 tranny VS. the 3RD GEN Tranny, physically they look the same but I was wondering if the T2 tranny is a bit shorter than the 3RD GEN tranny. also I would like to know if the bellhousings have any similarity, reason why I'm asking this question is that I'm putting this 3RD GEN motor into my datsun 510 and the 3RD GEN tranny looks too long for me to shift the car, it is placed too far back into the tranny tunnel, I know I can use the trans from a Ford T5 or Nissan 280ZX, Toyota Supra(but what year?), and a ford C4. BTW if the tranny doesnt' work for me I will put it up for sale including the Twin turbos if that doesn't work either, both has 80K on it and is in very good working shape. i would like to get $500 for the tranny and $450 for the twin turbos with all accesories going with it, I will only sell to people in the San Francisco bay Area, California
