Swing and a Miss on a REPU

I tried, but got sniped. D'oh. I bid the max I was willing to pay, considering shipping, so it's not like I would have bid more had the guy been bidding with me, but it sure sucks to go for days, thinking you might have the thing, only to have it yanked from under you with 30-sec left.

I hearya. I was actually considering bidding on that REPU, but I have way too many cars right now so I refrained. Who knows, maybe the high bidder will back out and you'll get it.

Hello Crit

Man that was one clean REPU, and good price too!

Like Smeagol said, maybe the winner backs down and you the next one on line.

Let's just hope.

Did you received the copies?

Crit, I have a '74 REPU, not in as good of shape, but I'm sorta looking to sell it. It's white and runs but needs some suspension and brakes. Also an exhaust because what's on there is crappy piston engine stuff. It's not loud but sounds less than ideal if you know what I mean. Talk to me.

My buddy had one of those in highschool, and I had a chevy luv (same body style).

He always kicked my *** when we raced, which had to be the funniest thing to watch as he had engine problems and my luv was just gutless as could be so it took 3 miles to get to 60mph.

I wish something like that would pop up locally, I'd love to own one.

Crit, you should have bid more, lol. That's one of the cleaner REPUs I've seen in a while and well worth the money. It would have made a nice companion to your other yellow one. By the time I finish the restoration on mine, I'll have a lot more than 3k invested, not to mention the time involved. This one would have been a great starting point for a complete restoration or even a wild custom.

Sure I should have bid more, but there's only so much you can blow without the wife noticing. That amount, minus what it would cost to ship to Atlanta, is what I bid. I'd like a shot if it's ever for sale, but I'll find another.

And you're free to put links like that in here, so far as I know. There aren't but a few dozen of us, so it's not like you'll have hundreds of FC jackasses flaming you for it.

That truck came with a white battery door. The seller verified it with me via email. Your truck should arrive with it.

Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda...

Sorry- don't frequent this forum hardly at all. Some of you will recognize me from mazdarepu and vintagerotaries, others from WAY back- IRC boards back in the early '90s, before forums even existed (as we know them now, anyways). I usually hung out on the efNet servers.

Nice score, redline! I almost went after it just to have another one as a driver, but the excess money wouldn't have been well spent right now. If my '76 wasn't so rusty, I'd consider putting her back on the road, but it would just need way too much work.

Trochoid- $3k invested? That's it? I paid $4800 for mine, and easily have $3500 more into her at the moment, and she's not even done yet. Maybe we're building/restoring to different levels....

Neal.
