If this is the wrong section please let me know
I am sure this has been discussed about 1200 times. I searched for SINGLE ROTOR. If anyone can help me out it would be appreciated. Do you have to make a different e-shaft, or can you cut down and reuse a stock one? I am thinking that making the exhaust and intake manifolds would be really easy. Would I need to add tons of weight on the flywheel to balance it? Is this remotely possible relatively cheap?
I have a spare engine and e-shaft. 1 rotor apex seals are bent up pretty bad from spark plug going in too far. I am thinking that the housing may be shot as well. I know it would be easier to just get another housing and rotor (rotor looks pretty bad also) and just rebuild the 12A but if I can do this fairly easy it would be a really cool project.
If I could actually do this it would be running a simple carb, like one out of a corvair. I figured using a corvair carb because I can get one for free/super cheap. I believe it is a 2 bbl maybe a single bbl. Not entirely sure though. The corvair had 2 of them on a flat 6 so I think that one would be enough gas for one rotor. At least to get it running and break it in a bit.
Ideas? Comments? Hey you are an idiot???
Thanks
IanS

They may still have an old Prototype 12 single rotor over at Atkins I spoke to them about a few years ago. Otherwise I think you would be better suited to use 13B parts - Since Atkins has e-shafts for them. Dan?

Yes DAD still has the 12-A 1 rotor just sitting on the shelf .
if you call me or dad [David Atkins] @ the shop I can tell you faster than I can type it out.
We do have a NEW 1 rotor shafts With weights on the shelf.
