i appologize if this has already been asked/answered, but here she goes:


Theres 2 trim levels of the RX8 which produce different horsepower ratings, one has a manual transmission and one has an automatic tranny.

Is theyre any difference in the motors? or is the lower HP rating a bi-product of the automatic tranny?

I hope that made sense, basically i just want to know if its 2 trannys and one motor, or two motors and two trannys.

also any links to other sites that provide specs on the rx8 would be helpful.

6-port 247hp 159 lb-ft 9k rpm redline for the manual 6sp

4-port 207hp 164 lb-ft 7.5k rpm redline for the auto 4sp
they have a manual 5sp for this engine in Japan
