does anyone know if the bolt pattern is the same and if the tranny can handle the 20b and if anyone knows where ican get a 20b with everything and for how much the ones i have seen are all auto hence the tranny ?

 

The RX8 6 speed is based on the MX5 box, won't last 5 minutes behind a 20b.

 

so which tranny would u recommend i read a write and the guy used a 5speed from a 302 stang which i can get my hands on easy if u guys think that is the best bet or should i try to get a t2 tranny 5.0 tranny would be cheaper and easier but which evevr u guys think wont break after a month

 

Only rotary gearbox that stands a chance would be a T2 or FD box. Otherwise you're looking at a steel-case corona or powerglide, or something like that, depending on how much torque you're pushing.

 

tha tranny wouldnt last 5 mins with that 20b bolted up to

 

t2 and FD trannys are everywhere, cheep, they bolt right up, and will handle ~600 hp (~450 lb ft torque).

 

ya the 5.0,302 tranny (t5) wouldn't last very long at all, TII tranny would probably be best

 

T4 works fine.. nice tranny too! found in t-bird tubocoupes. I had one and swaped out the inline 4 for a V6 with 400hp. T4s are solid!

 

Should snap like a twig if you waste your time on this......lol
