I was wondering if the new RX8 had a six speed transmission? And also what style of rotary engine was used in it. If anyone know let me know. I was thinking about doing a tranmission swap if the RX8 was a six speed. I know that there is not much of a point to it but just for the fact of being different and that kind of would be cool. Please let me know if you know about it.

from what I know the rx8 does come with a 6 speed...the engine is a new model called the renesis engine, its a 13b engine, but it has quite a few things different than the 13b that were used to...some of this guys may be able to tell exactly how the ports changed, but im not too familiar yet...but the tranny swap is not a bad idea, i wonder if it would work on my rx2

 

Well i have been on the phoe with all the different mazda sales place around Dallas an they could not tell me anything or even a price on the transmission. But I did speak with Chris at Rotary early this morning and he said that he didnt know but that he would have 2 RX8's at his shop within a month. He said that they would figure it out then. If any one else has some imput let me know.
