Curious as to who did your clearancing and balancing?Turbosource shouldn't be too far from you, they are outside of Minneapolis, CPR(Howard Coleman) is in Wisconsin also, both Elliot and Howard are great guys and have been very helpful to me

Balancing Whiz did the clearance and balance on the rotors. I've been conversing with Howard so we will have to see what the winter brings, currently have the engine back in the car and been driving around lightly for break-in

Hi.
This intake manifold full function Xcessive 4 Injector LIM?
If so, by how much he gives a forward displacement.
In Russia we do a similar project.
We have a machine with the right wheel, and the standard intake manifold strongly rests on the motor shield.
Interestingly, this will be sufficient to bias on this inlet manifold.

The availability of a tuner in my area is number one reason. number two is microtech has zero customer support. At least with me anyways.
Thinking about going with the new AEM infinity. I know a shop that will help me every step of the way with programming and tuning. And that's the ECU they prefer. Plus the capabilities of the new infinity are on another level.

The reason I did not modifie that area for cooling is because it is also the area of most stress "combustion" I've experienced in the past spark plugs holes cracking when taking to much material from that area.

So here's an update. Everything microtech in my car is gone. Including all the wiring. I bought the AEM infinity and started from scratch and rewiring everything. Some picture to show progress.

great to see you have the flying leads and are underway. i am currently building a BREW engine for Sal at EliteRotaryShop (Chicago) which will go in his RX8. it will be tuned around just over 600.
once my clutch is in and we do a bit of turbo comparisons i plan to do some of the 1/2 mile events in 2016. there is one April 30/May 1 in nearby (compared to Texas) Rantoul Il. mid season there is an event in Ga, only 700 miles as well as some others.
my friend attended a Florida 4/2 event yesterday and top speeds were just over 200. here's is his report:
47 degrees, and a strong cross wind. Top run in the 1/2 mile....209, 208, 201...Modded GT R's.
Mazda FD with twin turbo 6.2, 2.73 gears, aftermarket traction control. Almost the same drivetrain, as Nick Schultz from Indiana 191, 189, 190, 187.
Nick is visiting Tracey Grimm in Jacksonville, they will be running tomorrow. Other V8 RX7 guys were there...without their cars.
Lots of. Cars...only 150 per day can run...must have been over 200 making runs.
All the highend Ferraris , and Lambo' did not top 173. Mustangs went 136 for stock Coyote's up to 173 for the fastest supercharged.
Vipers..poor showing, vettes, Camaro's, 140 to 167, stock Charger Hellcats 149/150. Fastest modded Caddy CTSV 173, Porsche 167-173 max."

see pic in post 85...
the area machined for larger surface is the coldest part of the engine.
simply stated the top is cold, the bottom is hot. that's why Mazda changed the heat treat on the irons based on the differing temps throughout the engine.
i am not convinced the mod results in a net reduction in temps even if located in the proper location, around the plug boss. i believe the mod disturbs the laminar flow of the coolant in the engine and might possibly create bubbles in the modestly pressured coolant as it passes over the mountains and valleys.
our engines are small and yet create tons of power and as such they create huge combustion chamber pressure and heat. of course it centers on the leading spark plug. solution one is to run the coldest plug that works properly.
most plughole cracks i see come from too hot a plug.

Update:
The car was at the Dyno (Beyond Redline Performace, Green Bay, WI) for three weeks.
They tuned anything and everything. Its amazing what the AEM Infinity can do. The AEM has full control of the Drive-by-wire throttle body and it is just as responsive as a cable throttle body. They tuned in my Flex Fuel sensor so I can run anything from 91 pump gas to E85 and everything in-between. I don't have to do anything. Just simple add in the E85 and the ECU adjusts tune and boost levels accordingly. Also. Boost is controlled with Throttle position %. So instead of "High" and "Low" Boost. The ECU will read Throttle % and give boost accordingly.
For example. Max boost @ WOT is 20PSI. But if I give it 1/2 throttle the ECU will regulate to a preset boost level. So 10 or 15 PSI. Same goes for 1/4 or 3/4 throttle. They also tuned in a "Clutch Switch" and "Brake Switch"
Clutch switch allows for Launch control / 2-step. This utilizes VSS
Brake Switch allows for me to essentially "brake boost" but with full boost. I have not tried out these features yet.
The cars runs, drives, and idles amazing. But we did run into a boost creep issue. So horsepower was not able to be tuned. Only drive-ability. Basically how my single 60mm wastegate was routed was causing boost creep. I brought the car home and pulled the manifold out and rerouted my wastegate(s) I added two waste gates and got rid of the big single. Back to the Dyno I go!
