rx7 questions...

Hello rotary experts, i have a few questions here that i would like to know so i can make my friends think i know as much as you guys

Here goes:

What years were the each of the "series" produced? (example...between what years was the series 3 built and so forth for for series 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and if theres anymore)

What engine went into each one of the series?

How many types of rotary engines are there and a short explanation of each?

And how many cc's is a standard 13B?

Cheers.

There's also the 20B, R20B, R26B (LeMans-winning engine in 787B car) and others, but those are the significant production engines. Lots changed over the years with ignition, 6-port actuation, turbos and such.

I'm sure I've missed things, but that's off the top of my head.

Well, at some point the 12As got EFI and 6-ports in Japan, but I don't know when. Also, the 13A was in the FWD Luce, not Cosmo. My bad.

In the states, the SCCA has IT7 specifically for FBs, and they're competitive in ITA. There's also StarMazda with the little RENESIS F-3000 looking cars. Typically, though, they're too difficult to evenly match against piston cars and are not allowed to compete. They were hit with HUGE penalties for LeMans following Mazda's win, though they've been there nearly every year in Kudzu chassis. They're just made non-competitive by the rulemakers.
