RX3 owners rear end upgrade (Help)
Hey all,
Well i got the TII running well in my rx3. unfortunately and obviously i broke the left side axel. (saw that coming).
need advise on a reasonal upgrade to rear end without braking my back or bank account. I would like NOT to cut the wheel wells.
What size gearing? Rear? and Wheels? i would still like drivability with the ocasional trim to the track for a few pases.
Thanks
Richard

I'm getting a ford 9 narrowed to put into mine. Move the brackets and use the stock design with a beefier rear. All said and done, under $800. Already had the 9 and just found a nice LSD unit used from the mustang guys. An 8.8 would work well too. Little cheaper and just as strong aftermarket

Sorry to bring this back up, but the driver side axle is 2 3/8" smaller than the passenger side.
i picked up some 82 axles that fit the 3rd member but they are the same length as the pass side. anyone know what i can use?
Thanks again

Cheap, fast, dependable.
Problem is you can only have 2 out of the 3.
You are breaking axles!
You are going to need to fix it with money.
A machinist can cut new splines. They will have to take the hardness out, cut the splines and re-harden it. Done right it should be as strong as the one you just broke. To make it dependable, you will need to select a different diff.
Now you have all kinds of different ways to go. Do you know what you want or need?
