rx3-Alpine: Fuel Pump
Been working more on the Alpine.
Engine now turns by hand smoothly. When I try to hit the ignition however, nothing catches. Just keeps turning.
I figured either the plugs aren't firing (which would be odd. All new points/dizzies/etc) or enough fuel isn't getting to it.
Since I hadn't replaced the filters yet, I replaced the fore and aft filters. Since the prior owner wired it to have a manual switch for the fuel pump, I then just tried the fuel pump without hitting the ignition. Before it made a sort of rhythmic glump sound, but with the new filters it made a darned loud clicking. I know fuel pumps should make a clicking sound, but this seemed loud enough I was worried. So, questions.
Once I've got a new pump in, I'll also check all the plugs. Again, while these are the old plugs (I've got replacements waiting for once I've burned any junk out of the engine), the leads look good and everything under the distributor caps are new so seems unlikely all the plugs are bad.
PS - Hope these questions aren't too completely novice. I'm starting from complete scratch in working on cars, so likely a lot of my questions will reflect that. But have to learn somehow

- How loud should the clicking be?
- I pulled the pump just to take a look at it (and since I was flushing the gas again anyway). Here are pics of it. Is this a stock rx-3 pump? Doesn't look like the one in the manuals, but not sure if there was variety.
- I may just replace the pump to be sure. If so, are there recommended pumps for the rx-3s? Or is there a direct replacement for this one?
