The Bright Speed is one of my favorite all time wheels. These would look friggin' amazing on a RX3! Going with something completely different on my RX2 though.

Arnel, thanks for the vote of confidence. That means a lot coming from you. I can take some pics of my current setup, but it's really only for gauging the max wheel fitment I can get away with so I order the right size on the first try.

I actually emailed a company tonight that imports SSR's to find out if it can be done. 16" x7 and 8 have +13 and +0 respectively. These should fit! I'll pay the extra, as a few of the other SSR;s offered do have a different pattern option for extra $$

^Sweetness man. Keep us posted! Those offsets aren't too bad.

Now if you could only convince them to make it a stepped barrel. Have them reverse the barrels before assembly and instant re-production Bright Speeds here you come.

Come on you can take the centerline's out of the shed, they need dusting any ways.

Your welcome I'm glad I'm not the only one here that share the same passion. As for the Bright star I totally forgot about them, I had a chance to but a set as well with crazy offset. But as you know what I was trying to achieve, so I got the MKII instead.

If you check japan auction theres a few set of ssr MK I and ssr MKIII listed. 4x110 bolt pattern.

The problem is the japan auctions are usually 13x5.5 or some stupid *** size. I did get a half-*** response, so I tried again.

No Southern Ways Epsilons up yet? I can't believe it.

Does anyone know if we can get SSR rim halves from anywhere? My SSR RS-8's are 15"....but the face is the same size as the 16" version. So all I would need are some new inner and outer rim sections since these are true 3-piece wheels.

Oh yeah... I'm on yahoojp many a late night!

SSR MK-I: the better looking Japanese cousin of the Centerline Auto Drag.

Epsilon Southern Ways, nah thanks. The mesh spokes are too close together and don't like the way the face mounts to the barrel. Not a bad wheel, just not one of my favorite meshies.

Been looking into this for one of my other cars. I have a bunch of 15" 3 piece wheels and want to mix-n-match barrels to get some crazy fitment. Until I can find a place that will sell me the exact replacement barrels I need, I'll just keeping buying 3 piece wheels I can take apart whenever I find a good deal.

Jaime, you can try Kodiak wheels since on their site it says the sell barrels separately. Good luck getting an answer from them though. I tried to get hold of them a few weeks ago and still haven't gotten a reply.

http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/

Here is another resource I found for outer barrels. A place called TunerShop. I have no experience with them and haven't tried to contact them yet but looks like they are in Nevada, maybe Vegas area, so not too far away from Cali. Seems like the VW guys use them a lot.

http://www.tunershop.com/Wheel_Acces..._Lips/Schmidt/

If that doesn't work check out the Wheel ****** forum. Mostly V-Dub guys, but there is a ton of good info there about refinishing wheels, taking them apart, buying new lips/barrels etc.

http://www.wheel-******.com/forum/

Good luck man and I want to hear if you have any luck!

Thanks fchoncho.....I keep looking on Ebay for some 16" RS-8's with a low offset, no matter the pcd.

I contacted ARE, a local L.A. company and they won't do ****. Its so funny....companies can make some decent cash re-making some of these wheels. So....who's got a flowjet machine so we can make our own.

Seriously, I don't get it either. Or when some company does remake a good 3 piece classic design they want a ton of cash and wonder why business is slow.

If we could just find out where aftermarket wheel manufactures are getting their barrels from we'd be set. I'm willing to bet there is a few suppliers, I doubt most small wheel companies are doing everything in house. They probably just design the face only, order up some blank barrels, and either weld them up or install hardware to keep up modular.

Hey, I don't really care for them either but everyone has different tastes if you know what I mean. Just look at the guys rolling wire wheels, 30"+ wheels sticking way outside the fender etc. Hey, I have old Enkies, got a problem with those?

All I know is back in the day....Johnny from R-Power had 10" wide Epsilons in the back of his Rx2....no fender mods and not too much sticking out to look bad....it was complete hardness!

Hell no, I've had a bunch of those myself. (Sarcasm on the internets doesn't translate well.) I still have some of those and they make a great bang-for-the buck type wheel. Much better quality than any Rotas or Konigs would be too!

I was just making a joke about the Enkei 92's being played out because back in the day those mesh Enkie's were the thing to have. Either those, the full solid face Centerlines, or the 4 spoke SA22 OEM wheels. I was pretty much just a kid back then, but I remember thinking to myself there just has to be some better rims out there!
