Finished tacking the manifold together and threw it on the engine with the turbo just to see it...now I will drop the engine back in the car and make sure everything fits properly before I weld all the seams together...pics speak for words :)

Got the engine in the car again to check manifold fitment, clears everything perfectly. The Downpipe area is tight for 4"...might need to cut or hammer a lip in the engine bay to get it through. Now just need to pull things out again and weld the manifold shut.
On another note, I placed the Alternator as in the pictures and realized I could make a rod so that its mounted like that instead of the other way...only thing I will have to do is make a tensioner wheel so the belt clears the base for the A/C tensioner. Cheers Chris p.s. started to get excited when I saw the turbo in there...lol Attachment 718097 Attachment 718098 Attachment 718099 Attachment 718100 Attachment 718101 |

Yes I am using two ECU's in my car. The stock ECU to keep all accessories and other things happy and a Stand Alone controlling engine function. The OEM ECU will receive engine sensor input but will have 0 control of it.
All ancillary accessories will work properly. I am using the Renesis Front cover on the BRE engine. Chris |

Which specific standalone ECU if you would be so kind?

Exhaust looks pretty good. I assume you took some 90 degree premade bends and cut them to size? How did you cut them? Grinder? I'm currently also fabricating a header, but it's tricky getting the bends cut precicely right. I'm using a much thinner gauge as you so I'll need to get the gaps as small as possible if I want to get it welded nicely.

Had to modify the piece I had already "fabbed" once I fit it in the car again to make sure everything fit properly. All the DP should need now is a straight shot into the existing exhaust and full welding...

Oh my, I did not realize how much space that 4" downpipe will take up..
You have any scraps I can have or borrow for visual placements? |

I hope to learn to weld in the near future, it looks awesome being able to make your own exhaust manifold. Not to mention the $$ savings. |

Here's something you might need for #9 on your list. Just make sure to double check the dimensions.

I recognized the oil pedestal one and the other ones seems like its the bolt pattern from the BRE mani with a round hole for my throttle...am I correct? Thanks a million! Chris |
