How can I use a 1979 Rx-7 alternator with integrated regulator on a 1971 Rx-2 (external regulator) ?
Thanks !

I'm useing a alt from a 929 in my RX4. Just get the wireing diagram from the doner car and go from there, think there should be 3 wires, main bat out put and a two wire plug in, one is for the key (off & on), the other I don't remember

Im using a MX-6 alternator in the RX-3. same wire to the battery and I only use one wire on the 2-wire pigtail--that is to energize the field terminal. (any wire that has voltage when the key is ON)

The other wire in the T shaped connector goes to the GEN light.

I had an '82 alt on a '73 RX-2 engine. The housing is rotated, but it still fits fine.

Ok, I managed to burn my wiring harness trying to get this to work. Damn !
Anyone have an Rx-2 parts car ?
I need the passenger side wiring running from under the dash, through the firewall to the engine and the front of the car.
I can probably recover mine but I 'd rather use a good one instead.

Thanks !
