RX-3 owners- sound system

As stated above please post pix of your sound system. The trunk area has very limited options due to the gas tank but I would like to see what others have done including where to mount the amp. I will be installing my old alpine with soundstream amp, bazooka base tube, realistic speaker boxes in front and 6x9s (with risers) in the rear deck.

My mock-up is shown below but I'm not sure if I should gut the lil box to give an extra support to the stereo deck. thanks

the box

LOL. just taking my time. MB Quarts box speakers are now mounted in the front. Just waiting for a buddy (stereo specialist) to come over so he can design it, after a few beer and some wacky tobacky

He he... im just in the middle of putting a system in mine!

Ive mounted the amp between the rear wing (fender?) and the panel that the jack mounts next to. That ways it has good airflow and is outta the way from stuff knocking about in boot (trunk...)

Ive made some boxes to house 6 x9 speakers- these will sit on rear parcel shelf and will only be there when driving- no head unit- just run my mp3 player into amp- i dont want to chop holes in my mint interior and I dont want the little local ferral kids breaking into car to pinch stuff.

Boxes under construction...

Great minds think alike! Same plan I'm thinking of doing on my RX-2 coupe. Best part is no one can see you have modern speakers, amps, etc. and you get to keep the original look of the vintage OEM radio.

Wacky, if I were to install a stereo I'd probably go this route. You can get an all black faceplate and the ***** in black or chrome to match the original original dash a bit better.

alpine and the amps are in, just need to buy a 6x9 for the rear. this is not my daily driver so chances of anyone breaking in is zero to none. These cars are always garaged and I have 24/7 security...mean dogs.
