RX-2 speedo cable, same as RX-7?

Hey there, just curious if anyone has a good spare RX-2 speedo cable lying around they would want to part with? The cable in my '73 snapped today and I want to fix it soon as possible. I tried to match the '2 cable up to a spare speedo from a '83 GSL I have but they're not interchangeable. My '73 has an 80 RX-7 5 spd. tranny in it so I guess they're swappable on the trans side, but not on the speedo itself.

Thanks,
Mike

Hmm, maybe RX-3s have different ones? On the GSL speedometer I have the connector @ the back is smaller and appears to snap on somehow. The back of the speedo on my RX-2 has a threaded connector and is larger in diameter than the RX-7 one. I saw no easy way to attach it, at least to the one I have. Perhaps 79/80 RX-7s are different?

No, it absolutely isn't interchangable. You can fab an adapter piece without too much work, though, by cutting the tip out of your RX-2 speedo cable and retaining the threaded coupling. If your old parts are totally crapped out, canibalize them and try to keep your new part universal, so you can plug another RX-7 cable into your new adapter should you need to.

If, for some reason, Mike doesn't take it, I need a speedo cable.
