RX-2 Question

I've talked a lil with the First gen guys and now I get to talk to the RX-2 folk This is kinda cool but here's my situation. I've had this VLSD Rear Diff. from a '90 GXL RX-7 up for sale and I've had a ton of inquiries from fellas with anything but RX-7s asking questions about compatibility with my part. Of course I dont wanna lie to the guy. But what would it take to use this part on an RX-2 with a 12a motor? Is it possible? He is using an '84 ham he said but I dont know much else about the application. What should I tell him?

I dont think its compatable. The rx2 has a solid axle while the 90 rx7 has an independant rear end. Totally different setups.

From what I can tell the easiest thing to do is use a FB LSD from a 79-83 GSL Rx7. Im pretty sure its plug and play.

No a 1990 rx7 diff will not work- bolt in to a rx2. The only lsd diff that will bolt to a rx2 rearend is from a 81-83 gsl. There are some 80's that willl work too but it is a cut off date period. The 81-83 gsl have the smaller splines, thus will work with the stock small spline rx2 axles. I have done this swap in my rx2 with no problems.

My RX2 has the rear end out of an 83 GSL in it. Looked like a straight across swap other then welding moutning tabs for the rear shocks.
