Ok I got a small problem with my 2, that I have no idea how to fix. I went to pop my hood today and the hood release cable seems to be broken! The **** just pulls out and nothing catches. Does anyone know anyway to shimmy up the hood so I can replace the cable?

 

take the grill out thentake the right side headlight offget something long and release the latch

 

hmmm thats a great idea, but I have no idea where the acutal latch is located. I know there is a spring type thing that goes into the hole near the firewall, but thats about it. Do you have to pull, push or pry on what item. Can anyone help me out with this mechanism?

This is what you do, take the grill off, then take the 4 bolts that hold the bonnet on, two on each side. Lift the bonnet up as much as you can, then from the side use some coat hanger wire or something and pull it two one side.

Here is Aust the Drivers side is on the right hand side of the vehicle, this is the side you need to pull towards. You in the US the drivers side is on the left I believe, so pull it towards your passenger side.
